A Red Dial Paying Tribute to the Brand’s Historic Manufacture in Le Locle
This year marks Zenith’s 160th anniversary, and so far, we’ve already seen a series of celebratory timepieces, including the striking Defy Zero-G Lapis Edition. Blue has been the signature colour of the celebrations so far, but that’s about to change with the introduction of the Zenith Defy Skyline Tourbillon 160th Anniversary Edition in rose gold with a brick-red dial.
For the first time, the Defy Skyline Tourbillon is crafted entirely in rose gold, paired with a new brick-red dial that pays homage to the red-and-white brickwork of Zenith’s historic manufacture in Le Locle. This elegant edition joins the Defy Tourbillon line, previously seen in more sporty iterations with stainless steel and black ceramic cases.
Zenith has created the rose gold case with the collection’s signature Skyline geometry, a sharply faceted, integrated 41mm design with a distinctive 12-sided bezel. The case features a mix of satin-brushed and polished finishes, while a screwed-in crown ensures a practical 100-metre water resistance.
The dial’s colour palette draws inspiration from the red and white brickwork of Zenith’s production facility in Le Locle, Switzerland, where the brand has crafted its watches since 1865.
This influence is evident in the vivid red sunburst dial of the Defy Skyline Tourbillon, adorned with a pattern of engraved stars radiating from the tourbillon at 6 o’clock. The rose gold hands and applied hour markers ‘matching the case’ are coated with Super-LumiNova, offering crisp legibility against the deep red backdrop. The tourbillon itself completes one rotation every 60 seconds, with a small dot on one of its arms serving as the seconds indicator.
Powering the watch is the renowned El Primero 3630 automatic high-frequency movement, running at 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour) and offering a 50-hour power reserve. Based on the El Primero 3600, the calibre features a blackened tourbillon cage weighing just 0.25 grams.
For the finishing touches, the movement’s decoration draws inspiration from the star motif of the dial, incorporating engraved 3D Geneva stripes. Rose gold also makes an appearance in the mechanical design, most notably in the skeletonised star-shaped rotor, a first for the Defy Skyline series.

The new Defy Skyline Tourbillon comes on an integrated rose gold bracelet with H-shaped links and a folding clasp. For a more casual or sporty appeal, the bracelet can be easily swapped without tools for the included brick-red rubber strap.
The watch is not limited and is priced at EUR 97,400, equivalent to approximately AED 415,000.
