Introducing Baltic Unveils the Heures du Monde

A compact worldtimer with beautiful stone dials

The French brand Baltic is known for vintage-informed design and a sense of restraint that keeps its watches feeling refined rather than overly styled. That identity makes the new Heures du Monde a particularly special addition to the collection. A worldtimer is usually associated with larger, more formal watches, but Baltic brings the complication into a smaller, more wearable format without losing its sense of function or character.

That character is reinforced by the way the watch is presented. Rather than using a conventional dial finish, Baltic introduces the Heures du Monde with three stone dials: Labradorite, Tiger Eye, and Sodalite. Each one gives the watch a distinct personality, adding visual depth to the dial.

The case measures 37 mm in diameter and 11.3 mm in thickness. It is made from 316L stainless steel and paired with a brushed ceramic bezel, while a double-domed sapphire crystal with an internal anti-reflective coating completes the construction. For a worldtimer, these dimensions feel especially compact, and that gives the watch much of its appeal. Around the back, the watch features a closed caseback, with the first series individually numbered. Water resistance is rated at 100 metres.

The three stone options each bring a distinct look, while polished faceted sword hands and slim baton indices keep the display clear and refined. Both are treated with Super-LumiNova BGW9, as is the bezel, to improve visibility in low light. The layout follows the classic worldtimer format, with a 24-hour disc above the main dial and a city ring around the periphery for reading different time zones.

It is powered by the Soprod C125 GMT, used here without a date display. It is an automatic movement that runs at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a power reserve of 42 hours. For the strap, Baltic offers the watch on an Italian calf leather strap, a steel beads-of-rice bracelet, or a steel flat-link bracelet, depending on the version.

As for availability, the first series is limited to 200 numbered pieces per model. After that, the watch is expected to join the permanent collection. The price is set at EUR 1,300, approximately AED 5,550, on a leather strap, and EUR 1,360, approximately AED 5,800, on a metal bracelet.
