Introducing Zenith Introduces The Defy Chroma II EL Primero 21 in black and white

Two watches Inspired by rainbow aesthetics with a new touch

The ZENITH DEFY CHROMA II EL PRIMERO 21 makes a bold entrance, encapsulating innovation and vibrancy. As part of Zenith's collection, this timepiece highlights the brand's expertise in blending cutting-edge technology with artistic finesse.

In addition to the previously introduced white ceramic variant, this year, Zenith introduces two new additions based on the “MK1 Chroma”, a white ceramic case with new dial color modifications, and a newly introduced brushed and polished black ceramic edition.

With a case measuring 44mm in diameter and 14.5mm in height, it showcases a raised circular bezel and two rectangular pushers on the right side of the watch. The ceramic white version of the Defy Chroma II EL Primero 21 is nearly identical to the previous version of the watch, the "MK1 Chroma." However, upon closer inspection, you'll notice a slight shift in the rainbow colors on the openworked watch and its indexes. Moreover, Zenith has replaced the yellow rubber on the watch's crown with a blue rubber.

What makes the ZENITH DEFY CHROMA II EL PRIMERO 21 a special release is the brushed and polished black edition. The black version features the exact same diameter and height as the new white ceramic watch, only with darker tones primarily leaning towards blue and pink and is complemented by a yellow rubber crown. Both versions of the "DEFY CHROMA II" boast a chronograph with a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock, a 60-second counter at 6 o'clock, a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, and a power-reserve indicator at 12 o'clock.

Powering both watches is the In-house El Primero 9004 movement, which is chronometer-certified by TIME LAB and features two escapements. One is dedicated to timekeeping, operating at 36,000 vph, while the other is exclusively for the chronograph function, operating at 360,000 vph. The movement offers a power reserve of 50 hours and is equipped with a Zenith star-shaped rotor.

The “DEFY CHROMA II” comes with a white strap with rainbow stitching for the white ceramic version, or a black strap with rainbow stitching for the black ceramic version, with a titanium double-folding clasp.

Both watches are limited to 500 pieces and priced at CHF 14,500 which is equivalent to AED 59,100.
