Introducing Zenith DEFY Skyline Skeleton in white ceramic

Zenith is celebrating the summer season with the debut of the first-ever DEFY Skyline model in white ceramic, featuring a blue skeleton movement and dial for a perfect festival vibe.
Launched in 2022, the Defy Skyline collection represents Zenith’s sports watches with an integrated bracelet. Serving as a modern successor to Zenith's inaugural DEFY wristwatch from 1969, the DEFY Skyline seamlessly blends historical influences with contemporary design, characterized by bold architectural lines and unwavering durability that define the collection. This latest edition of the DEFY Skyline Skeleton showcases a symmetrical, open movement and dial encased in pristine white ceramic. This year, Zenith introduced a black ceramic version of the Defy Skyline tourbillon.

Measuring 41mm in diameter, the latest release marks the first time white ceramic has been used on a watch from the brand’s Defy collection. The new Zenith Defy Skyline White Ceramic Skeleton maintains the highly angular profile typical of the Defy collection. This version features a flat sapphire crystal, a fixed twelve-sided bezel, a display-style caseback, and a signed screw-down crown, offering 100 meters of water resistance.

The blue open-worked dial complements the blue-finished components of the movement visible through both sides of the watch. The skeletonized dial plate forms a four-pointed star, while the luminous hour markers and minute track appear on a separate chapter ring around the periphery of the dial. Like other Defy Skyline Skeleton models, the new white ceramic version displays the time with centrally-mounted hands, while the running seconds are tracked by a sub-dial on the lower half of the display. The applied indices and hour and minute hands are rhodium-plated and coated with SuperLuminova C1, while the Zenith logo at 12 o'clock.

Powering the new Zenith Defy Skyline White Ceramic Skeleton is the same El Primero Caliber 3620 SK automatic movement that can be found inside other open-worked versions of the Defy Skyline. and we see it in the last edition from in the Zenith France-Exclusive Defy Skyline. 

The skeletonized Zenith Caliber 3620 runs at a frequency of 36,000 vph (5 Hz) with a power reserve of approximately 55 hours. It features a rapid 1/10th small seconds hand that makes one full rotation in ten seconds, rather than the conventional sixty seconds.

To provide the watch with superior resistance to magnetism, both the anchor and escape wheel are crafted from silicon. Additionally, purple-colored components are visible through the open-worked display at the 9 o’clock position. The back of the movement and the  star-shaped rotor fully coated in blue.

This white Defy Skyline Skeleton includes a full ceramic bracelet that matches the finishing of the case. It is secured with a folding clasp and features a convenient quick strap-change mechanism. Zenith also includes a white rubber strap in the box. Priced at 16,900 CHF which is equivalent to AED 69,000
