Gerald Charles Unveils Its Most Complex Timepiece, The Masterlink Perpetual Calendar

Gerald Charles, the independent Swiss watchmaking Maison founded by the great Mr. Gérald Charles Genta, unveils its most complicated watch since its reestablishment less than a decade ago. The Masterlink Perpetual Calendar, developed entirely in-house, marks a new chapter for the young and ambitious Maison as it continues to expand its repertoire of poetic complications.

In keeping with Gerald Charles’s “No Compromise” watchmaking philosophy, established by Mr. Genta more than a quarter of a century ago, the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar introduces an in-house, asymmetrical, automatic perpetual calendar calibre with a three-counter display.

Zenith unveiled its newest limited-edition timepiece in collaboration with the American football player Aaron Rodgers, who has been a brand ambassador for the Swiss luxury Maison since 2021. The collaboration reveals a refreshing Chronomaster Sport model in green, a hue that pays tribute to the Green Bay Packers, the professional American football team Rodgers served for 17 years.

The new edition comes with a 41mm brushed and polished stainless steel case with a thickness of 12.9mm. It features a bi-directional green ceramic bezel, the case is topped by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. and the traditional pushers next to the crown that holds the Zenith star logo.

Adorning the green dial are the model's signature classic tri-color a white-to-grey spectrum subdials decorated with snailing pattern. that indicate small seconds, 60 minutes, and 60 seconds, respectively. A discreet date window is positioned between the 4 and 5 hour markers, blending seamlessly with the dial's color. Another unique aspect of this watch is its Arabic hour markers. These markers are applied and designed to resemble football jersey numbers on the back of a jersey.

The watch features rhodium-plated hands and indexes coated with SuperLuminova, along with a yellow chronograph hand with the Zenith star, that completes one lap of the dial every 10 seconds.

Inside the watch is the iconic El Primero 3600 automatic chronograph movement, which operates at 36,000 VPH (5Hz) and offers a power reserve of 60 hours. It features a silicon escape wheel and escapement. This movement is visible through the crystal caseback, although Aaron Rodgers' logo partially obscures it on the sapphire.

The watch is paired with a Steel bracelet with a folding steel buckle.

The Zenith Chronomaster Sport Aaron Rodgers is limited to 250 pieces. priced at 12,800 which is equivalent to 47,000 AED.
