The French brand's return to Swiss-made Sellita movements
Yema has long been celebrated for its take on modern watchmaking, building a reputation for crafting ultra-capable tool watches. Last year, the brand released its iconic Superman with a slimmer case by using the CMM.10 caliber, CMM standing for Calibre Manufacture Morteau, a reference to the Morteau workshops where Yema produces the majority of its movements in-house in France. For its latest release, the French watchmaker introduced the Superman Swiss Edition, marking a strategic return to Swiss-made Sellita movements for more accessible models.
The Superman collection is inspired by the iconic 1970s diving watch, Superman Ref. 53.00.16, and the Superman Swiss Edition pays homage to its vintage roots while embracing modern refinements. The watch is available in two case sizes: 39mm and 41mm, both crafted from polished and brushed 316L stainless steel and measure 13.9mm in thickness. Retaining the signature design elements of its predecessors, the watch features a 120-click unidirectional bezel with an aluminum insert showcasing a 60-minute diving scale. Yema’s patented bezel-lock mechanism ensures secure positioning during underwater adventures. The case offers robust protection with a double-domed sapphire crystal. Notably, the blue variant features a matching bezel, while the other models opt for a contrasting black bezel.
A tribute to tradition, the caseback is adorned with Yema's historical coat of arms, embossed and micro-blasted for a refined appearance. The watch maintains an impressive water resistance of 300m, thanks to its screw-down crown and screwed caseback, making it a reliable companion for diving enthusiasts.

This release brings with it black, white, beige, and blue matte dials. Signature elements include printed luminous indices and the iconic Superman handset: sword-style hour, arrow-tipped minute, and shovel-shaped second hand. Additionally, the dial includes a date window positioned at 3 o’clock.
Powering the watch is the Swiss-made Sellita SW200-1, an automatic movement that operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers a 38-hour power reserve. The watch is paired with the Superman Heritage steel bracelet. It also includes a diver’s extension and a double-safety folding clasp, allowing for quick and easy adjustments over a diving suit.

The Yema Superman Swiss Edition cuts USD 600 off the price of the previous release thanks to its new movement, bringing the total to USD 1,190, which is approximately equivalent to AED 4,400.
