A Contemporary Revival of the Brand’s Iconic Dive Watch in Bronze
The French brand Yema continues to refine its heritage-driven designs while reaffirming its commitment to in-house watchmaking. Founded in 1948 in Morteau, France, the brand built its reputation on robust tool and diving watches. Following the release of the Skin Diver Slim CMM.10 Bronze Limited Edition, Yema now brings its micro-rotor movement into a bronze case once again with the new Skin Diver Slim Bronze CMM.20 Limited Edition.
The Skin Diver Slim Bronze CMM.20 Limited Edition is a modern interpretation of the iconic skin diver models released by Yema in the 1960s—rugged in spirit, yet unmistakably refined in execution.
The watch is housed in a 39 mm bronze case, featuring brushed surfaces complemented by polished accents that emphasize the geometry of the case. Its thickness is kept to a slim 11 mm, enhancing wearability. A double-domed sapphire crystal provides excellent clarity while adding a vintage-inspired curvature to the profile. The unidirectional rotating bezel stands out with its “faded ghost” aesthetic. Entirely crafted from sapphire, it harmonizes seamlessly with the dark grey dial and the brushed bronze case. Marked with a 0–60 scale and a Grade A Super-LumiNova luminescent marker at 12 o’clock, the bezel incorporates essential features expected of a professional diving watch.
A sapphire exhibition caseback reveals the movement while maintaining an impressive water resistance of 300 meters. Each caseback is engraved with an individual serial number, along with the corresponding limited-edition number, out of a total production of 200 pieces.
As the bronze case is exposed to air, moisture, and daily wear, it will gradually develop a distinctive patina, giving each watch a uniquely lived-in character. Warm, tactile, and deeply nautical in spirit, bronze offers a naturally evolving finish that ensures no two cases will ever look exactly alike.
The dial layout is both distinctive and highly legible, featuring triangular-shaped hour markers paired with Arabic numerals. Oversized applied markers extend toward the center of the dial and are complemented by a large arrow-shaped minute hand, a long pencil-shaped hour hand, and a lollipop-style seconds hand.
The enamel dial base is available in either dark grey or green, both rendered with a matte finish that reinforces the vintage aesthetic. This surface treatment enhances the contrast and interplay of light between the dark background and the gilt raised markers and hands. The hour markers, hands, and bezel pip are all coated with Grade A Super-LumiNova, ensuring optimal readability in low-light conditions.

Powering the watch is the Manufacture Morteau 20 (CMM.20), a proprietary micro-rotor automatic calibre developed in France in collaboration with Swiss watchmaker Olivier Mory. Measuring just 3.7 mm in thickness, this ultra-slim movement allows for the watch’s compact proportions while delivering a substantial 70-hour power reserve from a single barrel. It features a bidirectional tungsten micro-rotor and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, achieving chronometer-level accuracy of -3/+7 seconds per day.
