Featuring Yema’s latest in-house movement, inspired by timepieces worn by French Army paratroopers
The French company Yema presents a special edition in collaboration with the French Air and Space Force. Designed and developed in collaboration with France’s elite airborne commandos, the Commando Parachutiste de l’Air No. 10 (CPA10), and inspired by Type A Flieger watches, the Flygraf CPA10 is a modern reinterpretation of the legendary military aviation timepiece.
Housed in an extremely lightweight and durable Grade 2 titanium case, this military-inspired model pays tribute to the CPA10 and marks the first time it is equipped with Yema’s in-house CMM.10 caliber.
The darker tone of the titanium, combined with its brushed finish, enhances the watch’s matte, tactical look. Measuring 40mm in diameter, with a 46mm lug-to-lug distance and a case thickness of under 10mm, the Flygraf CPA10 features a 2.00mm-thick double-domed sapphire crystal, offering superior legibility, added durability, and a distinctly vintage aesthetic.
The oversized crown, engraved with the French Air Force logo, is designed for ease of use, even while wearing gloves underscoring its mission-ready functionality.
On the reverse, the exhibition caseback showcases the insignia of the 602e GIA (Groupement d’Infanterie de l’Air), printed in white directly beneath the sapphire glass. This emblem pays homage to one of the earliest French paratrooper units and a direct predecessor of the CPA10, forging a strong connection between past and present.
The ultra-legible Flieger Type A dial subtly incorporates the CPA10 logo in a tone-on-tone design. Arabic numeral hour markers are printed in slight relief with a metallic steel finish, while the CPA10 emblem is prominently placed at 6 o’clock.
A thoughtful detail appears at 10 o’clock the numeral is coated in white Super-Luminova® C1 Grade A, referencing CPA10 directly. The remaining markers are treated with Super-Luminova® BGW9 Grade A, emitting a blue glow in low-light conditions. This strategic use of lume enhances nighttime legibility while reinforcing the watch’s unique identity.
Powering the Flygraf CPA10 is the Calibre Manufacture Morteau 10 (CMM.10), previously seen in the Superman Gilt edition. Comprising 208 components, it beats at 28,800 vph and offers an impressive 70-hour power reserve. With a precision rate of +5/-3 seconds per day, the movement exceeds chronometer standards.
Completing the ensemble is a canvas strap crafted by a French manufacturer, accented with white stitching to match the watch’s military aesthetic. A leather lining on the underside ensures enhanced wearing comfort, and the French Air Force logo is subtly included. The strap is secured by a brushed titanium buckle. The Yema Flygraf CPA10 is priced at €1,690, approximately AED 7,175.
