The Second Collaboration Between the Two Brands, Marked by a Rare Pietersite Stone Dial
Waqt joins forces with Zentier for a second collaboration, resulting in a distinctive creation based on Zentier’s Sauté collection. This new edition introduces a freshly designed dial crafted from a rare gemstone, drawing inspiration from the raw beauty of natural materials. The result is the Waqt × Zentier Sauté Pietersite Edition.
Pietersite is a rare, chatoyant gemstone, a brecciated form of chalcedony (quartz), distinguished by its swirling patterns of blue, gold, red, and brown created by embedded crocidolite fibers. Often described as stormy or fiery in appearance, Pietersite is prized in jewelry for its striking “cat’s eye” effect and is typically cut as a cabochon to fully reveal its dynamic textures. While it belongs to the quartz family, its visual identity is unmistakably unique.
This new edition builds on the success of the first limited release, which featured a Tiger’s Eye stone dial and sold out within minutes. The Pietersite edition continues this approach, offering a distinctive stone dial while retaining the collection’s signature design codes and artisanal touches.
Pietersite is exceptionally rare, with only two known localities worldwide, one of which is no longer active. In the 1990s, a small deposit was discovered in China’s Hunan Province but was exhausted and closed just a few years later. The only remaining source is in Namibia, where the stone was first identified more than 55 years ago by Sid Pieters, after whom the mineral is named.
The watch is housed in a 36mm cushion-shaped stainless steel case with an entirely polished finish and a thickness of 10.7mm. It is fitted with a flat sapphire crystal treated with anti-reflective and anti-fingerprint coatings. The brushed stainless steel caseback is engraved with the Zentier logo in Arabic, while an additional sapphire crystal caseback printed with the same Arabic logo is also included.
The combination of the compact size, cushion shape, and straight lugs gives the watch a distinctive presence on the wrist, while the thin bezel draws full attention to the striking dial.
A small change for the case exactly for the lugs width, which comes in 20 mm width now instead of 21 mm width for the previous special edition.
The Pietersite dial, with hues ranging from deep blue to gold and yellow, captures the untamed energy of natural forces. Its shifting textures create a sense of constant movement, evoking the image of a storm frozen in time.
As each Pietersite stone is unique, no two dials are alike, ensuring that every watch carries its own individual pattern and character, an expression shaped entirely by nature.
The jumping hours are positioned at 12 o’clock, while the dragging minutes are displayed on a rotating disc at 6 o’clock, beneath an arched window, both elements rendered in white. Just below the minute display, and for the first time the Zentier’s applied logo plate comes in Arabic adds a final touch to the refined aesthetic.
This edition also marks the collection’s second use of Eastern Arabic numerals, following the earlier Waqt special edition with a Tiger’s Eye dial. While these numerals are traditionally presented on static dials, their integration into a rotating disc introduces an unconventional and contemporary approach to time display, further enhancing the watch’s distinctive identity.
At the heart of the watch is the automatic caliber ST-1721 from the Chinese manufacturer Tianjin Sea-Gull, featuring a Jumping Hour mechanism. Operating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3Hz), the movement offers a 38-hour power reserve.

The watch is paired with a black leather strap, a classic choice that complements the expressive dial, and is secured by a vintage inspired stainless steel pin buckle.
The Limited Edition Waqt × Zentier Sauté Pietersite is available exclusively to order through Waqt’s E-shop for a limited five-day period, beginning on 29th December and concluding at the end of 3rd January 2026. The watch is priced at AED 4,900.

delivery is June 2026. Please note that this is a projected timeline and the watch may arrive earlier or later depending on production and logistics. We appreciate your understanding and patience throughout the process.
