Vulcain was founded in 1858 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. With over a century and a half of watchmaking expertise, the brand has established itself as a respected brand in the watch industry. Vulcain is perhaps best known for its Cricket alarm watch, introduced in 1947, which gained fame as the first wristwatch with a mechanical alarm function. Beyond its Cricket watches, Vulcain has a history of creating iconic timepieces that has not only left a mark on the watch industry. Drawing on its historical references, Vulcain has been building a strategy to resurrect its emblematic past collections. The newly added series is inspired by the elegant The Grand Prix was originally introduced in the 1960s to commemorate Vulcain’s winning the top watchmaking award at the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition.The this time-only watches represents a captivating reinterpretation of the classic.

With its slim profile, the polished 316L stainless steel case, 39mm in diameter and 12.9mm in height, makes it a picture-perfect dress watch. It is protected by a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment. Its vintage-styled case ensures water resistance to 50 meters. while the case back is solid from the same stainless steel of the case.

The same holds true for the dial, which presents a refined vintage-inspired aesthetic. Slightly domed and available in champagne semi-glossy, light gray, or black with a sunburst finish, these dials are embellished with polished applied hour markers, featuring double indices at the cardinal positions.

The central hour, minute, and second hands maintain the watch’s classic design slim, elegant, and polished. Positioned above the center are the printed Vulcain logo and the series name, balanced by the “automatic” label below and the Swiss-made designation next to the 6 o’clock index.

The watch is equipped with a swiss movement Landeron L24 movement, an automatic caliber operating at 28,800 vibrations/hour and boasting a power reserve of 40 hours.
The new Vulcain Grand Prix references feature brown or black leather straps secured with a stainless steel pin buckle. It is available for order in Waqt e-shop, Waqt is the exclusive agent for the company in the United Arab Emirates. Priced at EUR 1,400 which is equivalent to 5,400 AED.
