The Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein Smile-Day Blue & Tourbillon Régulateur Blue

Louis Erard has spent recent years defining a very specific place for itself within contemporary Swiss watchmaking. Its strength lies in clarity of design and advanced mechanics. That balance has become central to Louis Erard’s identity.

That design awareness is especially visible in the brand’s collaborative work, where Louis Erard has shown a rare ability to absorb the language of an outside creative without losing its own. One of its most notable collaborations is with French designer Alain Silberstein, who has, over the years, developed a visual vocabulary that is instantly recognisable, one in which hands, markers, and displays become a composition of shapes as much as instruments of timekeeping.

Introducing Gérald Charles Unveils the Maestro GC Sport Tennis White

A New White-Dial Addition That Captures the Elegance of Tennis

Last year, Gérald Charles celebrated its 25th anniversary with a series of compelling editions, among them the sporty Maestro GC Sport Tennis, a new addition to the GC Sport collection. Drawing inspiration from Mr. Genta’s earlier works and the brand’s history of sport-themed timepieces, it introduced a dynamic new expression of the Maison’s design language.

Now, just days before Watches and Wonders, the Maison expands this tennis-inspired collection with a new white-dial edition, a refined interpretation of its high-performance sports watch. Inspired by the historic dress code of the world’s most prestigious grass-court tennis tournament “Wimbledon”, where white has long symbolised discipline, respect, and understated sophistication, this new edition further reinforces the Maison’s enduring connection with the sport while elevating it into a more formal and iconic context.

At the heart of the watch is Gérald Charles’ proprietary ergonomic engineering standard, developed by the Maison’s R&D team to ensure that the lugs, case curvature, and strap architecture maximise surface contact with the wrist, optimising both stability and weight distribution.

Retaining the case design and dimensions of the previous edition, the Maestro GC Sport White is housed in a Darkblast Grade 5 titanium case, now enhanced with a proprietary hardening treatment said to increase scratch resistance by up to ten times.

The watch comes in a 39 mm x 41 mm ultra-light Darkblast Grade 5 titanium case, measuring 9 mm thick and weighing just 64 grams. It preserves the iconic and highly distinctive Maestro silhouette for which Gérald Charles is known, offering a harmonious blend of style and comfort. Featuring a left-side screw-down crown decorated with the Clous de Paris motif, it is strategically positioned to avoid interference during tennis matches, allowing for uninterrupted performance. Built with 5G shock resistance, the case ensures durability and resilience in active settings. A flat sapphire crystal caseback reveals the watch’s intricate mechanics, while 100 metres of water resistance adds everyday practicality to its elegant sports-oriented design.

The watch features a white dial with a grained textured base that fades into a black dégradé edge, subtly evoking the look of a tennis ball. Around the perimeter runs a white minute track, while the baton-shaped hands are filled with white Super-LumiNova, glowing green in low-light conditions for enhanced legibility. Applied Arabic numerals at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock ensure clear time reading, while a date aperture at 6 o’clock adds everyday functionality. The grained textured finish, creates a dynamic three-dimensional effect that reinforces the watch’s sporty character.

Beyond its visual impact, the white dial also conveys a sense of purity and restraint, echoing the timeless elegance and discipline of British tennis tradition.

Powering the watch is the Swiss-made automatic ultra-thin Manufacture GCA2001 calibre, developed in-house by Gérald Charles and measuring just 3.7 mm in thickness. This advanced movement features a central rotor engraved with Gérald Charles’ signature honeycomb motif. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), it incorporates a twin-barrel system delivering a 50-hour power reserve, alongside an Incabloc anti-shock system for enhanced robustness. The rotor’s unidirectional winding mechanism, combined with a stop-seconds function, ensures precise and reliable timekeeping. Finishing details include Côtes de Genève and perlage decoration on the bridges, while the movement’s 189 components work in harmony to deliver refined mechanical performance.

The Gérald Charles Maestro GC Sport Tennis White is paired with a white Velcro strap, developed in-house in Geneva and fitted with an easy-release system, allowing the wearer to change the strap independently and without tools. It is secured by a titanium buckle and offered as a limited edition of 200 pieces. Priced at 19,700 CHF which is equivalent to 91,110 AED.
