The First Titanium Watch from the Independent Italian Brand
Venezianico introduces the Nereide Titanio, the Italian company's first model crafted entirely from titanium, a material renowned for its lightness and strength. While titanium is not particularly rare, it is expensive and difficult to work with, from preparing it in its natural form to machining it. We previously explained everything about this material in this article. The Nereide collection consists of diving watches from Venezianico, which also features special editions, including the latest piece with a golden dial, or the Nereide Acquaforte: Venezianico’s homage to Italian craftsmanship, a diver’s watch fully engraved with motifs inspired by the Renaissance era. This is now the first timepiece with a titanium case.
The case, made from titanium, maintains the same design and size as the Nereide collection: Diameter: 42 mm, Height: 11.9 mm. The unidirectional rotating bezel gets a special touch, with its indices and numbers coated with Super-LumiNova BGW9, which shines in blue.
With the Nereide Titanio, the Italian company pays tribute to this symbolism, drawing inspiration from Atlas, the Titan who holds up the sky, also evoked by the famous statue located in the courtyard of the Doge's Palace in Venice. This is a direct reference to the strength and resilience that this material represents. The case offers a 300-meter water resistance.
The dial features a dark blue fumé layout, which transitions to black at the perimeter. Surrounding the dial is a minute track, while the hour indices are applied and coated with Super-LumiNova, as are the hands. The date window, with a white background, is positioned at 3 o'clock.
The watch is powered by the Sellita SW200-1 movement, a reliable and widely used automatic caliber known for its precision and durability. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), the movement offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
The Nereide Titanio comes with a hybrid strap made of textile fiber and FKM rubber for comfort and versatility. For those seeking an even lighter option, an ultra-light elastic nylon strap weighing just 14 grams is available, bringing the total weight of the watch to 80 grams.
It will be available starting December 27th, priced at EUR 1,095, which is equivalent to 4,225 AED.
