Limited Edition Timepiece With Black & Green Aesthetics
MB&F has consistently pushed the boundaries of traditional watchmaking with its avant-garde designs and innovative timekeeping creations. In 2015 MB&F introduced The LM Perpetual, a watch that represents an innovative interpretation of a perpetual calendar complication. Designed by Northern Irish master watchmaker Stephen McDonnell, with a fully integrated perpetual calendar, which means it can accurately display the date, day, month, and leap year without manual adjustments until the year 2100.

Two years later, MB&F released the LM Split Escapement, with Stephen McDonnell playing a crucial role in the development of the timepiece. Hiding the escapement on the opposite side of the movement, giving birth to the term “Split Escapement ”. As the large balance wheel appears to be suspended above the dial without the traditional anchor lever visible. His innovative solution to create the world's longest balance wheel was instrumental in achieving the watch's unique design.
The initial releases of the LM Split Escapement featured MB&F's classic Legacy Machine case. However, the collection has since evolved to include the EVO case. The inception of this new case design dates back to 2020 with the introduction of the LM Perpetual EVO.
Following the success of the LM Perpetual EVO, the EVO case design expanded its presence within the Legacy Machine collection, marking a milestone with MB&F's inaugural chronograph, the LM Sequential EVO. Additionally, the EVO case quietly graced a 10-piece limited edition LM Split Escapement EVO, commemorating the UAE's Golden Jubilee.
Maximilian Büsser and Swiss Prestige, a company that specializes in promoting and distributing mechanical Swiss watches in the Asian market, share a unique and enduring relationship that dates back to the early days of MB&F. This partnership took a leap in 2015 when Swiss Prestige established the MB&F M.A.D.Gallery in Taiwan, making it the first in Asia and the second in the world.
This year, the Taipei M.A.D.Gallery introduces the LM Split Escapement EVO Taipei Edition, a limited edition timepiece of 20 pieces featuring a polished and brushed 44mm grade 5 titanium case with no bezel. It includes a screw-down crown at 4:30 and sapphire crystals on both the top and caseback, treated with anti-reflective coating on both faces. Additionally, the case is equipped with the FlexRing, designed to absorb shocks and vibrations, thereby enhancing the durability and precision of the watch movement.
The dial features dark green sub-dials with Arabic numerals and indices treated with Super-Luminova on a black baseplate. The hour and minute subdial is positioned at 2 o'clock, the power reserve indicator is at 6 o'clock, and there's a date indicator at 9 o'clock with arrow-shaped hands on all subdials. Additionally, a balance wheel is located at the center of the dial.
The LM Split Escapement EVO Taipei Edition movement was developed for MB&F by Stephen McDonnell, featuring Split escapement with the balance wheel suspended above the dial and the anchor under the movement, with manual winding and double mainspring barrels providing 72 hours of power reserve. The movement holds 298 components, and operates at 18,000 vph (2.5Hz).
The watch is paired with either dark gray or white integrated rubber strap with titanium folding buckle, with a price of CHF 88,000, which is equivalent to AED 360,000.
