Introducing Mastering time and light: HYT’s Conical Tourbillon Infinity Sapphires Unveiled

A Symphony of Haute Horlogerie and High Jewelry

HYT, an independent Swiss watch brand founded in 2012, has redefined time measurement with its innovative mechanical-fluidic technology. This approach combines a mechanical movement with a retrograde time indication, using fluorescent fluid in a system of capillary tubes. Inspired by fluid mechanics, The HYT Conical Tourbillon Infinity Sapphires marks the latest chapter in its horological journey. As the pinnacle achievement from HYT, this timepiece captures the essence of the independent Swiss watch brand's distinctiveness and grants it a truly unparalleled identity.

Released in early 2023, the Black HYT Conical Tourbillon Infinity Sapphires is a timepiece that celebrates the culmination of ten years of innovation in watchmaking by HYT. This mechanical fluidic watch features a conical tourbillon that merges science and watchmaking craftsmanship.

The brand introduces a fresh iteration of the Conical Tourbillon, featuring a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, housed within a 48mm case crafted from 5N rose gold and black DLC titanium, boasting a thickness of 25.15mm. The watch showcases a Gold 5N and black-coated titanium crown, complemented by black-coated side grids against a backdrop of Gold 5N.

At the center of the dial, the retrograde fluidic hour indication takes prominence. This innovative feature, characteristic of HYT's design philosophy, involves a fluidic module that uses liquids to indicate the hours. The hour markers are indicated by the position of the fluid within a curved glass tube. As time passes, the liquid gradually advances, marking the progression of hours. This display is not only unique but also aligns with the fluidic theme that runs through the brand's collection. The assembly consists of 533 components, with the tourbillon carriage alone accounting for 159 parts. Additionally, there are 39 components for the dial and 66 for the case, bringing the total number of components in the watch to 750. Each of these components undergoes manual verification.

Among these components are distinct gems in fuchsia, blue-gray, and yellow hues, each rotating at varying speeds. The fuchsia gem completes 4 revolutions per minute, the blue-gray counterpart rotates at 5 rpm, while the yellow gem rotates at 6 rpm.

Powering the timepiece is the 701 TC caliber, a manual-wind mechanical movement operating at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz). The core of this horological masterpiece features a tourbillon, its spiral balance inclined at 30 degrees, escapement wheel at 15 degrees, and anchor at 23 degrees. Inspired by German watchmaker Walter Prendel's original inclined balance tourbillon situated at 6 o'clock, this bold engineering accomplishment pays homage to his innovation.

The timepiece will be revealed during Geneva Watch Days 2023.
