Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch

Two new releases with beautiful white and blue dials
The PR516 was originally conceived in the mid-20th century as a collection rooted in the world of racing, designed to withstand demanding conditions while remaining easy to read and comfortable to wear. Over the decades, it evolved in step with changing tastes, yet its underlying character remained intact. When Tissot brought the PR516 back in 2024, the aim was to reinterpret the past through modern proportions, contemporary materials, and dependable mechanics.
This year, the brand expands the collection with the PR516 Powermatic 80 in 38mm, placing greater emphasis on refinement and introducing two new dial variations in white and blue.

The stainless steel case measures 38mm in diameter and wears with impressive balance on the wrist, helped by a thickness of 11.2mm and a compact 44mm lug-to-lug span. Brushed and polished surfaces sharpen the overall profile. A fixed black bezel frames the dial, its mineral glass insert marked with a 60-minute scale that recalls the look of vintage plexiglass bezels without sacrificing modern robustness. Turning the watch over reveals a sapphire caseback, offering a clear view of the movement inside, while water resistance is rated at 100 metres.

One version features a clean matte white dial, paired with dark grey-coated hands and applied indices. The second introduces a gradient blue dial, shifting in tone as it catches the light and lending the watch a fresher, more contemporary personality. In both cases, the faceted hands and applied indices are treated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring strong legibility in low-light conditions. The layout remains deliberately simple, displaying hours, minutes, seconds, and a date window positioned at 3 o’clock.

Powering the watch is Tissot’s well-known Powermatic 80 movement. This automatic calibre operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz) and delivers a power reserve of up to 80 hours. Derived from the ETA 2824 architecture, it features a redesigned gear train and a Nivachron balance spring, enhancing resistance to magnetism while maintaining long-term reliability.

The watch is worn on a stainless steel five-link bracelet that complements the PR516’s retro-sport character perfectly. These new models join the permanent collection, priced at CHF 685, approximately AED 3,300.
