New materials and a new 38mm size, same iconic design
The PRX is Tissot’s best-selling watch and even ranks as the top seller within the Swatch Group, the owner of Tissot and ten other watch brands. The story of the PRX begins with Tissot’s archive watch from 1978. The model name, “PRX,” carries meaning: PR = Precise & Robust, and X = 10 in Roman numerals, referring to the 10 atmospheres (100 m) water-resistance target. In 2021, Tissot reintroduced the PRX, blending its archival design with modern manufacturing and finishing.
Since then, the collection has expanded to include multiple materials, sizes, variants, and dial colors, alongside numerous special editions, including the recent Grendizer edition.
However, Tissot is not yet done with the PRX. The brand now unveils a new trio of versions crafted from innovative materials: two in titanium and one in Damascus steel, all presented in a compact 38 mm size.
Rising from a foundation forged through time, Tissot introduces materials that elevate the collection, each telling its own story. The titanium editions feature integrated titanium cases and bracelets, while the Damascus stainless steel model debuts with both case and dial crafted from this unique material, renowned for its strength, durability, and captivating patterned surface.
All three models maintain the iconic PRX design, with a 38 mm diameter and 10.98 mm profile. The tonneau-shaped central case, raised circular bezel, and integrated bracelet or strap seamlessly follow the case lines. A flat sapphire crystal protects the watch from both sides.
The titanium editions feature two distinct dial variations: a deep blue version with nickel-plated baton hands and applied indexes, and an anthracite version that highlights titanium itself, accented with rose-gold-colored hands and indexes for a refined look. Both dials showcase the signature waffle pattern, reinforcing the watch’s bold, modern spirit while ensuring excellent legibility.
The Damascus stainless steel model offers a one-of-a-kind appearance, merging modernity with vintage allure. Its dial matches the case in Damascus steel, featuring swirling, watery motifs that create a visual feast reminiscent of waves in constant motion. Baton-shaped hands, a bold black seconds hand, and black-nickelled indexes ensure readability while emphasizing the unique texture, making each piece distinct.
All three watches are powered by the Powermatic 80 automatic movement, based on the ETA 2824-2, operating at 21,600 vph (3 Hz) with an 80-hour power reserve.
The Damascus steel edition is completed with an interchangeable grained leather strap featuring Damascus stainless steel end pieces and buckle, highlighting versatility and echoing the artistry of the case. The titanium editions are fitted with an integrated titanium three-row bracelet with a push-button butterfly clasp and quick-release pins.
All three models will join Tissot’s permanent collection. Prices are set at EUR 875 (AED 3,690) for the titanium editions and EUR 1,075 (AED 4,550) for the Damascus steel version.
