Introducing Tudor's Golden Revival: Introducing The Prince Chronograph One

A Nostalgic Classic Reinvented with Contemporary Mastery

Tudor, known for their legacy of blending traditional aesthetics with contemporary watchmaking technology, has raised the bar again. This time, Tudor celebrates the ‘70s with a unique reinterpretation of a classic: the “Big Block” Chronograph. The watch is presented in an exclusive prototype form and, for the first time, featuring a Manufacture Chronograph Calibre entirely developed by Tudor.

Tudor's Unconventional Twist on Tradition

Tudor timepieces have traditionally been symbols of value, reliability, and robustness. The brand has largely utilized materials such as stainless steel or titanium for their creations. In an unexpected move for Only Watch, Tudor chose to take a daring leap with an all-new 18K yellow gold case, marking the return of the iconic "Big Block" Chronograph. This classic piece, Tudor’s first automatic chronograph, was initially launched in 1976 and is now revived with a golden touch.

The Prince Chronograph One: A Testament to Tudor’s Innovation

The Prince Chronograph One, true to Tudor's spirit of innovation, houses another significant first: the brand-new Manufacture Chronograph Calibre, completely developed in-house. This prototype movement, referred to as "Number 0" in the development process, is nestled inside the Prince Chronograph One. The novel Calibre, MT59XX, boasts column-wheel construction and is designed to meet all the performance standards of Tudor Manufacture Calibres.

Impeccable Specifications

The Tudor Prince Chronograph One (Ref: 9420/801) radiates opulence with its 42mm 18K solid yellow gold case, complemented by a gold bezel with an aluminum insert, and yellow gold screw-down pushers. Its unique black dial comes with sunken gold registers, “Prince Chronograph” neatly printed above the six o’clock register, and 18K yellow gold hour markers and hands.

The Prototype column-wheel Manufacture Chronograph Calibre MT59XX ensures precision with a tolerance range of 6 seconds (-2/+4) tested on a fully assembled watch. It also comes equipped with a Silicon Hairspring and offers a generous 70-hour power reserve.

The watch adorns an 18K three-link yellow gold bracelet secured with Tudor's "T-fit" clasp in 18K yellow gold.

A Nostalgic Rebirth

This reiteration of the classic Tudor Chronograph, presented in solid 18K yellow gold, signifies a powerful rebirth. Its unique black lacquered dial with sunken gold registers, coupled with the debut of Tudor’s prototype column-wheel Manufacture Chronograph Calibre MT59XX, underscores Tudor’s unyielding commitment to combining innovation with tradition.

The Tudor Prince Chronograph One is not just a timepiece; it's a nod to the past while stepping boldly into the future. It's a testament to Tudor's ability to challenge norms while honoring its legacy, making it a remarkable addition to any watch connoisseur's collection.
