Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch

A limited edition inspired by the historic El Primero and its connection to Japanese pop culture
Zenith has a rich history of blending watchmaking mastery with unexpected cultural narratives. One of its most unique collaborations began in 2019, when the brand revisited its heritage through the world of Japanese animation. The original El Primero A384, introduced in 1969, appeared twice in the iconic anime Lupin the Third on the wrist of Daisuke Jigen, the right-hand man of the protagonist, Lupin. Although the watch was fictional in the series, Zenith transformed this imagined timepiece into reality through a trilogy of limited editions that captivated collectors and anime fans around the world.

Today, Zenith extends that story with the Chronomaster Revival Daisuke Jigen Edition, a model that builds directly on the character’s vintage aesthetic while presenting it through a contemporary interpretation of the famed A384 silhouette.
The watch is housed in a microblasted titanium case, giving it a dark matte finish. The proportions remain faithful to the original A384, measuring 37 mm in diameter and 12.6 mm in thickness, while the modern material adds a fresh and unexpected contrast to the vintage inspiration. The model features an exhibition caseback offering a clear view of the movement. It is water-resistant to 50 meters, and the sapphire crystal is decorated with an outline of Daisuke Jigen.
The dial presents a warm beige tone inspired by aged vintage dials. It is paired with black tri-compax chronograph counters, giving it a classic panda layout. A tachymeter scale frames the outer edge, and beige Super-LumiNova provides a soft, period-appropriate glow. The date window is positioned between 4 and 5 o’clocks.
Inside the timepiece is the El Primero 400 calibre, the direct descendant of the iconic 1969 movement. It is an automatic column-wheel chronograph operating at a high frequency of 36,000 vph (5 Hz), with a power reserve of 50 hours.

The watch is fitted to a microblasted titanium ladder bracelet. Originally created by Gay Frères in 1969, the ladder design has become one of Zenith’s most recognisable bracelet styles.
Limited to 200 pieces, the Chronomaster Revival Daisuke Jigen Edition is priced at CHF 10,400 (approximately AED 48,100). It will be available first through Zenith’s Isetan Shinjuku pop-up in Japan before its global release on November 26, 2025.
