Two elegant releases with a stunning blue dial
Union Glashütte is one of the historic names from Saxony, founded in 1893 in the town of Glashütte, the cradle of German watchmaking. The brand has long built its reputation on precise movements finished to a high standard, offering watches that balance tradition with contemporary design. One of its most iconic lines is the Belisar collection, which blends a sporty aesthetic with classic elegance, as seen in many of its releases here. This year, the brand expands the collection with the Belisar Chronograph Moon Phase in blue.
The watch comes in a 42 mm stainless steel case, 14.8 mm thick, with a lug-to-lug span of 50.6 mm. It is available in stainless steel or with a solid 18K rose gold bezel and screwed-on flanks. The case surfaces alternate between brushed and polished finishes, while a rounded sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides protects the dial. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters.

The dial is presented in a deep midnight blue with a fine sunburst finish. It features applied rose-gold-coloured indices and an applied Union logo. By contrast, the chronograph and 24-hour hands are in silver hue. The 24-hour counter is positioned at 9 o’clock, while the 30-minute counter sits at 12 o’clock, accompanied by day and month windows. At 6 o’clock, the moon phase display is integrated into the 12-hour counter, with a golden moon set against a night-blue sky. The date is indicated via a central pointer hand, with numerals from 1 to 31 arranged around the dial’s perimeter.
Inside beats the UNG-25.S1 automatic calibre, assembled and calibrated in Glashütte. The movement is equipped with a silicon balance spring for improved resistance to magnetic fields and enhanced long-term stability. It operates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of at least 65 hours.

The watch is paired with a blue calfskin leather strap featuring a crocodile embossing. Hand-crafted, it is secured by a double push-button folding clasp. Both versions join the permanent collection, priced at €3,600 (approximately AED 15,350) for the steel version, and €7,500 (approximately AED 32,000) for the steel-and-gold edition.
