Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch

A rising name in watchmaking delivers ceramic tool watches that punch well above their price point
Earthen Company is one of the freshest names to enter the watch market, founded in Hong Kong in 2025 by a group of passionate collectors and enthusiasts. Co-founder Jonathan Chan, also a key figure behind The Horology Club, explains that the team approached this project as collectors first, not as traditional watchmakers.
The result is a debut that doesn’t chase trends but instead offers something unique, a series of ceramic, field- and pilot-inspired watches at an accessible price point. With the launch of the Summit Collection, it’s clear Earthen intends to make an impression from day one.

The first thing that strikes you is how well the proportions are handled. At 38mm in diameter and just 10mm thick, the ceramic case wears compactly, yet it feels substantial enough to deliver the presence of a true tool watch. Ceramic at this price point is a rarity, and Earthen has executed it with real care. The black case features a brushed finish that recalls vintage tool watches, while the white case takes on a slightly glossy sheen for a more contemporary feel. A large, easy-to-grip crown adds practicality, with colored inserts between the knurling, blue for the Blue Bird model and black for the others, adding both style and utility. Protecting the dial is a sapphire crystal.
Turning the watch over reveals a solid stainless steel caseback finished with a circular brushed pattern meant to evoke mountain peaks when viewed from above, a thoughtful design cue that reflects the team’s attention to detail. The watch is rated to 100 meters of water resistance, making it suitable for daily wear and adventure alike.

The Overcast combines a black dial with beige lume inside a matching black case for a classic field-watch aesthetic. The Whiteout contrasts sharply with its black dial framed by a white case. The standout is the Blue Bird, featuring a full-lume white dial that glows intensely in the dark. Each model shares oversized Arabic numerals, a triangular 12 o’clock marker, a railroad-style minute track, and bold lumed hands for maximum legibility.

Inside, Earthen equips the reliable Miyota 9039 automatic caliber, running at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with a 42-hour power reserve. Notably, each watch is delivered with two straps. The Overcast arrives with a sage green sailcloth rubber strap and a khaki NATO, the Whiteout pairs a white rubber strap with a navy NATO, and the Blue Bird comes with a baby blue rubber strap and a light grey NATO.
For the initial run, Earthen is producing 100 pieces of each model. While not strictly limited editions, more will be produced once the first batches sell out. Priced at just USD 899 (AED 3,850), the Summit Collection represents one of the most compelling ceramic offerings on the market today. Ceramic is typically reserved for far more expensive watches, yet Earthen has managed to deliver it with style, substance, and excellent finishing at an approachable level.
After handling the watches, the lasting impression is how much more expensive they feel than their price suggests. The Summit Collection combines smart design choices, robust specifications, and an attention to detail that makes Earthen a young brand to watch closely. If this is their starting point, the future looks very promising.
