A new and fresh terracotta color for the indie brand's Dual Time watch
Speake Marin is an independent brand established by Peter Speake-Marin in 2002 in Bursins, Switzerland. It has garnered recognition for its dedication to high-quality watchmaking and its commitment to developing in-house manufacture movements. Building on the success of the time-only One&Two Openworked model introduced in 2017, Speake-Marin launched a new variation with a dual time function and a retrograde date display two years later. Now, the brand is releasing the Openworked Dual Time Terracotta, featuring a new “terracotta” color that gives a beautiful shade of orange.
The watch comes in the Piccadilly case, crafted from grade 5 titanium. Its modern design has become iconic for Speake Marin, featuring a round shape defined by a domed bezel and a horizontally brushed middle case. The case includes an anti-reflective sapphire crystal on both the dial and case back, allowing admiration of the exceptional mechanism within. As we have seen previously, all models in the Openworked collection are available in either 38mm or 42mm cases, both sharing a thickness of 12.35 mm.

The Openworked multi-layer dial features a frosted hand-finished plate with an orange terracotta PVD coating. At the 9 o’clock position, there's a second time zone on a 24-hour scale in two-tone (black/gray) for day/night indication, accompanied by Arabic numerals with matte gray Super-Luminova emitting an orange glow on the black semi-arc.
The small seconds sub-dial at 1:30 features an orange terracotta PVD coating, with 5-second intervals marked with light gray Super-Luminova. Additionally, there's a retrograde date around the small seconds sub-dial with black PVD treatment and Arabic numerals in matte gray lacquer. The minute flange has a circular finish with black PVD treatment, with 5-minute markers filled with gray matte Super-LumiNova emitting a blue light.
The watch is powered by the in-house manufacture caliber SMA02, an automatic movement with a Tungsten micro-rotor, operating at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offering 52 hours of power reserve. The movement features a black rhodium-plated mainplate and bridges, adorned with a Côtes de Genève motif with 1.5 mm stripes.
