Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
Celebrating ten years of collaboration with the Australian motorsport championship Supercars
The Seiko 5 Sports collection was long positioned as an entry point into mechanical watchmaking; however, it has since evolved into a platform for robust, purpose-driven designs, frequently shaped by collaborations beyond the traditional boundaries of horology. Motorsport is one such arena, and Seiko’s decade-long partnership with the Supercars Championship has provided a framework for watches that emphasise performance, legibility, and resilience.

To celebrate ten years of collaboration with the Australian motorsport championship Supercars, Seiko introduces the Seiko 5 Sports x Supercars Limited Edition SSK057K. This model integrates a GMT function into the familiar Seiko 5 Sports architecture while drawing visual inspiration from the materials and colours of modern car racing.

The stainless steel case measures 42.5 mm in diameter with a thickness of 13.6 mm. The use of stainless steel reinforces the watch’s everyday intent, prioritising durability. Turning the watch over reveals a caseback engraved with the Supercars logo alongside the individual limited-edition number. Water resistance is rated at 100 metres.

The dial immediately sets the tone with its carbon-fibre-patterned surface, a direct reference to the composite materials central to contemporary motorsport engineering. Its dark base provides a controlled backdrop for vivid red accents, which appear on the GMT hand, the seconds hand, and the inner chapter ring. Lumibrite is applied to the hands and hour markers, preserving clear legibility in low-light conditions. The layout remains functional and purposeful, with central hours and minutes joined by a 24-hour GMT hand with a date window at 3 o’clock, while the bidirectional bezel allows the tracking of additional time zones.

The watch is powered by Seiko’s automatic Calibre 4R34, operating at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz) and offering a power reserve of 41 hours. It is fitted with a black cow leather strap with a lug width of 22 mm. Production is limited to 1,500 individually numbered pieces, priced at AUD 850, approximately AED 2,200.
