A vibrant new shade for the brand’s most advanced chronograph
Norqain has established itself as one of Switzerland’s most passionate independent watch brands, deeply rooted in adventure and dedicated to crafting timepieces that embody independence and endurance. The Independence collection remains the brand’s most technically ambitious line, showcasing its pursuit of both robustness and refinement across various sizes and materials. The latest addition, the Independence Skeleton Chrono 42mm Orange, captures that spirit with a striking burst of color and a finely executed mechanical heart.
The watch is housed in a 42mm stainless steel case measuring 13.9mm thick and 49.8mm lug-to-lug. The case combines brushed and polished surfaces, complemented by sandblasted lugs and chronograph pushers that add texture and depth. Norqain’s signature plate appears on the left case flank and can be personalized. Equipped with sapphire crystal on both sides, the case also features a screw-down crown, ensuring 100 meters of water resistance.
The skeletonised dial reveals the movement beneath through openworked bridges shaped to evoke mountain peaks, a tribute to the “8K” concept that inspired the watch. Vivid orange accents energize the design, highlighting the outer minute track and key bridge elements. Rhodium-plated, openworked hands and indices are filled with white Super-LumiNova for legibility, while the chronograph hand features a luminescent tip.

Powering the watch is the automatic Calibre 8K, a flyback chronograph movement developed jointly by Norqain and AMT Manufacture, the high-end division of Sellita. Based on an extensively modified SW500, the calibre features a column-wheel mechanism that allows the chronograph to be reset and restarted instantly with a single press. It beats at 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers a 62-hour power reserve. Each movement is COSC-certified for chronometer precision. The “8K” name pays homage to the world’s fourteen peaks that rise above 8,000 meters.

The watch is available with either an orange Milanese-textured rubber strap fitted with a pin buckle or an integrated 4-link stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp and micro-adjustment system. This model is produced in limited annual quantities and priced at EUR 5,900 / AED 25,500 on the rubber strap and EUR 6,150 / AED 26,600 on the bracelet.
