The First Limited Edition For M.A.D Editions, in Collaboration with the French Designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac
Since 2005, Maximilian Büsser and his team have been crafting extraordinary timekeeping marvels under the brand MB&F (Maximilian Büsser & Friends). While Max revels in creating these intricate mechanical watches, 2021 marked a significant shift as he introduced a side project: the creation of more accessible timepieces under a different label - M.A.D.Editions - always infused with the signature MB&F touch.
Following the introduction of the Blue, Red, and Green editions in 2023, M.A.D.Editions now unveils its first Limited Edition, marking its maiden collaboration with an external creator: the M.A.D.1 ‘Time to Love,’ limited to 999 pieces, crafted in partnership with the renowned French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, who has imparted his unmistakable style to the M.A.D.1.
Jean-Charles de Castelbajac known as JC/DC,[2] is a French fashion designer. He has enjoyed international success with some of his creations, boasts a career spanning half a century.
Infusing the M.A.D.1 with his signature palette of red for passion, blue for hope, and yellow for human warmth, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac has embellished the timepiece with a newly-engineered rotor featuring angel wings in his iconic hues. Additionally, a vibrant green, close to Castelbajac’s heart, graces the hour disc.
The latest M.A.D.1 ‘Time to Love’ arrives in a familiar 42mm stainless steel casing, incorporating portions crafted from both mineral glass and sapphire crystal, complete with a polished bezel and lugs. The dial showcases a triple-blade tungsten titanium rotor adorned with Super-Luminova coating.
Elevating the M.A.D.1 with the Castelbajac touch, the triple-blade rotor is now adorned in blue, yellow, and red lacquer, fashioned into angel wing shapes, with one wing slightly heavier to optimize rotation on the newly engineered rotor.

The lateral time display retains its original design, featuring two rotating aluminum cylinders for the hours (bright green) and minutes (black), with engraved numbers in Castelbajac’s distinctive handwriting. Another hallmark of Castelbajac is the French quote beneath the rotor: “Ce trésor rare et précieux, c’est ta vie. Le temps vole de ses ailes blanches. Tu es le gardien de ton temps.”
Utilizing the same movement featured in previous editions, the M.A.D.1 Time to Love Edition x Castelbajac incorporates the upside-down automatic Japanese Miyota 821A movement, operating at 21,600vph and boasting a 42-hour power reserve.

The watch comes accompanied by two calfskin leather straps, one in black and the other in white, both embellished with 'Time To Love' embroidery. Complementing this ensemble is a folding buckle crafted from stainless steel.

Half of the production will be allocated to Tribe Members and brand suppliers on a first-come, first-served basis, while the remaining half will be made available to the public through a raffle system, ensuring equitable distribution.
