Celebrating the upcoming release of The Smurfs 2025 film
Franck Muller has built its name on bold design and complex mechanics. From inventive complications like the Crazy Hours to its signature tonneau-shaped Vanguard case, the brand has always embraced watchmaking as both art and expression as we have seen in many of its releases. This year, Franck Muller channels that creative spirit into an unexpected collaboration, with The Smurfs.
To celebrate the upcoming release of The Smurfs 2025 film, Franck Muller introduces the Vanguard Smurfette, a trio of limited-edition timepieces featuring Smurfette herself on the dial.
The watches are housed in the brand’s signature Vanguard case, crafted from hand-polished stainless steel with rhodium plating. Each case measures 32 mm in width, 42.3 mm in length, and 9.9 mm in thickness. Depending on the version, the case is either set with 308 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 3.77 carats or left completely unadorned. Colored inserts on both sides of the case, blue or pink, add a vibrant pop of character. A sapphire crystal protects the dial and provides water resistance up to 30 meters.
The dials feature a stamped guilloché sunburst pattern, finished with 25 layers of lacquer. The numerals are hand-painted and individually applied, with each colorway reflecting a different facet of Smurfette’s personality. The blue edition showcases a vivid Smurf-blue dial with matching numerals; the white-dial version pairs pink numerals with a soft pink strap; and the third variant, the Flower Edition, surrounds Smurfette with a lively floral motif. All three models display hours, minutes, and seconds.
Powering each watch is the MVT 1748 automatic movement, which beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers a power reserve of 38 hours. The movement, composed of 75 components, is finely decorated with Côtes de Genève on the bridges and rotor plate, perlage on the mainplate, and additional finishing techniques such as beveling, snailing, and sunray brushing across structural elements.
The timepieces are paired with alligator leather straps, blue with yellow stitching for the blue edition, and rose with white stitching for the pink and floral versions. On the diamond-set models, the strap buckles are also handset with 12 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 0.21 carats.
