Introducing The New TAG Heuer Formula 1 Collection

Five beautiful releases of mechanical chronographs

For decades, TAG Heuer has been synonymous with precision, innovation, and the adrenaline-fueled world of motorsport. The brand served as the official timekeeper of the Formula 1 World Championship from 1992 to 2003, and this year, it has announced its return to this position.

But that’s not the only exciting news for TAG Heuer in 2025. The brand has also unveiled five remarkable new mechanical timepieces from its iconic Formula 1 collection. These include four bold chronographs and the Formula 1 Chronograph x Oracle Red Bull Racing, a special edition celebrating TAG Heuer’s enduring partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing.

Before diving into the details, let’s revisit the collection’s history. Launched in 1986, the Formula 1 collection was the first to carry the TAG Heuer name. For many enthusiasts, those quartz-powered watches served as an introduction to Swiss timepieces. Nearly four decades later, the collection remains highly coveted in vintage markets, continuing to uphold its iconic appeal.

The case is crafted from either grade 2 titanium in its natural color or black DLC-coated titanium, depending on the model, and measures 44mm in diameter and 14.1mm in thickness. The sapphire crystal is surrounded by a fixed tachymeter bezel crafted from aluminum. However, the special Oracle Red Bull Racing edition features a carbon insert. The case includes chronograph pushers, a crown with a colored ring, and a solid caseback that ensures water resistance up to 200 meters.

Four variants feature a black opalin dial, while the Oracle Red Bull Racing edition has a blue dial. All share a tri-compax layout with a chronograph minutes counter at 12 o’clock, a chronograph hours counter at 6 o’clock, and a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock. The hands and applied indices are treated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility, while the chronograph and small seconds hands are lacquered in red, blue, lime green, or yellow. The date window is positioned at 3 o’clock, adjacent to the brand logo.

The watches are powered by the Calibre 16 automatic chronograph movement, based on the Sellita SW-500. This movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a 42-hour power reserve. Each watch comes with an integrated rubber strap available in black, red, or the signature Oracle Red Bull Racing blue. The strap is secured with a steel pin buckle engraved with the TAG Heuer logo.

The prices are as follows: the titanium variant is CHF 4,300 / AED 17,400, the black DLC-coated variant is CHF 4,600 / AED 18,610, and the Oracle Red Bull Racing Edition is CHF 5,300 / AED 21,500.
