Introducing The New Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
Two stunning releases with smoky purple dials
The TAG Heuer Carrera collection is one of the most iconic sports watches in horology, and the brand continues to push the boundaries of design and innovation by introducing two stunning additions: the Carrera Chronograph and the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon. These models bring a fresh perspective to the celebrated Glassbox design, featuring an eye-catching smoky black-to-purple gradient dial. This daring color choice builds on the success of the purple Monaco Chronograph, which debuted in 2022.
The Carrera Chronograph boasts a stainless steel case with a 39mm diameter and 13.86mm in thickness, characterized by a harmonious blend of brushed and polished surfaces. The iconic Glassbox domed sapphire crystal, treated with double anti-reflective coating, ensures clarity while maintaining a timeless aesthetic. The caseback, a screw-down sapphire design, enhances the watch's durability while offering a clear view of the mechanical marvel within. With a water resistance of 100 meters, this timepiece is well-suited for both formal occasions and everyday adventures. The Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon, on the other hand, takes the same specifications of the case but larger at 42mm diameter and 14.33mm thickness.
The smoky purple sunray-brushed dial is a standout feature of both models, exuding a sophisticated yet modern charm. The chronograph counters sport a full black azuré finish, enhanced by silver accents that improve readability and provide a striking contrast against the rich purple background. Rhodium-plated hour markers, coupled with subtle silver accents, add an understated elegance to the timepieces. While both models share counters positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock, the key distinction lies at the 6 o’clock position: the Carrera Chronograph features a small seconds subdial with a date window, while the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon showcases its mesmerizing tourbillon mechanism.
Powering the Carrera Chronograph is the Caliber TH20-00, an automatic movement that operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). This high-performance caliber delivers an impressive power reserve of 80 hours. However, the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon houses the Caliber TH20-09, an equally refined automatic movement. While it operates at the same frequency, it offers a slightly reduced power reserve of 65 hours.
Both watches are paired with a perforated black calfskin leather strap featuring black stitching and a purple calfskin lining on the reverse with tone-on-tone stitching, secured by a steel folding clasp. The Carrera Chronograph is priced at CHF 6,500 / AED 26,300, while the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon, limited to 200 pieces, is priced at CHF 34,000 / AED 137,400.
