Five new timepieces with beautiful colors, ceramic bezel, and wave patterned dial
Doxa is a Swiss watchmaker with a rich heritage dating back to 1889. Renowned for its dive watches, Doxa gained prominence with the introduction of the iconic SUB collection in 1967. The SUB was the first commercially available dive watch with a unidirectional bezel that featured a dual scale for depth and dive time to calculate a safe ascent without decompression stops. The company has a strong association with diving history, having many collaborations such as the DOXA Special Edition Clive Cussler Watch, with the iconic novels and maritime exploration Clive Cussler.
The Doxa SUB 300β Sharkhunter marked a milestone as the inaugural timepiece to incorporate the letter "β" from the Greek alphabet in its nomenclature. This symbolic addition not only signified innovation but also signaled a paradigm shift, ushering in new horizons in design, materials, and an urban perspective for dive watches that we witnessed in the SUB 300β Seddiqi Edition. Beyond its aquatic roots, the SUB 300β transcended traditional boundaries, evolving into a versatile sports watch crafted for every facet of life. It seamlessly blends functionality with a contemporary urban aesthetic, emphasizing that its prowess extends beyond the depths of the ocean, making it an ideal companion for diverse life scenarios.
In the latest news from DOXA, the brand introduces the SUB 300β Collection, offering a spectrum of vibrant colors to suit diverse tastes. Among them, three boast a black dial adorned with different colored accents, “Divingstar" in yellow, “Professional” in orange, and “Aquamarine” in turquoise, with the navy blue “Caribbean” and the silver “Searambled”, ensuring a versatile range that caters to both style and individual preferences.
Constructed from stainless steel, the case exhibits a combination of brushed and polished accents, enhancing its visual appeal, measuring 42.50mm in width, 44.50mm in length, and boasting a slim 11.95mm thickness. The unidirectional bezel is available in black or blue ceramic, features a no-decompression scale, showcasing depth in feet on the outer scale and duration in minutes on the inner scale. The ceramic screw-down crown is located at 3 o’clock and the helium escape valve at 9 o’clock, topped by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating ensures crystal-clear visibility of the dial, while the solid steel screwed back ensures water resistance of 300m.
Each model in the SUB 300β Collection features a dial adorned with a sunburst finish and a captivating wave pattern, with a date window at 3 o’clock. The Searambler presents a silver dial, while the Divingstar comes with black, accentuated by yellow. The Caribbean embraces maritime elegance with a navy blue dial, and the Aquamarine achieves sophistication with a black dial complemented by turquoise accents. The Professional exudes sleekness with a black dial enhanced by striking orange accents. Ensuring optimal legibility in diverse lighting conditions, the hour and oversized colored minute hands, along with markers are filled with super-luminova.
Powering the collection is the Sellita SW200 automatic movement, delivering a 38-hour power reserve, and operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz). The Caribbean comes with a dial matching FKM rubber strap, and the Searambler comes with a white or black FKM, while the Aquamarine, Profession and the Divingstar comes with a tone matching FKM. Alternatively, the collection offers a steel beads of rice bracelet with a folding clasp and ratcheting wetsuit extension, both straps and bracelets are paired with a PVD-coated folding clasp with a ratcheting wetsuit extension. The collection price ranges from CHF 1900 to 2000, which is equivalent to AED 8,000 to 8,600.
