Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
The first release in the 03SERIES collection with a dial inspired by shimmering salmon skin
Studio Underd0g is a fresh name in the watchmaking industry, gaining recognition for its unique, playful, and creative designs. The brand's origins trace back to the pandemic when its founder, Richard Benc, like many others, found time to explore creative endeavors. His passion for horology led him to design watches, which he shared online. The overwhelming fanfare and positive feedback these designs received gave him the confidence to officially launch Studio Underd0g in 2021.
This year, we saw a unique collaboration between Studio Underd0g and H. Moser & Cie, two watchmakers that showcased their passion for creativity with the release of the Passion Fruit Watches. The collaboration featured two models: one with a Perpetual Calendar and the other a monopusher chronograph titled the 03SERIES. Now, the 03SERIES has become an official collection, and Studio Underd0g is releasing its first model, the Salm0n, which takes inspiration from the shimmering skin of a salmon.
The new watch features a stainless steel case with a refined mix of brushed and polished finishes, measuring 38.5mm in diameter and 13.6mm in thickness. It is fitted with a double-domed sapphire crystal, while the see-through sapphire case back provides a glimpse into the movement.
The dial of the new watch retains the design code of the 01SERIES, featuring a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o'clock, a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock, and a tachymeter scale surrounding the dial. However, the key difference lies in the movement, as this model features a monopusher chronograph. The concept behind the release plays on the idea that every serious watch brand needs a salmon dial in their collection. Given Studio Underd0g's playful approach, they questioned the seriousness of this "rule." True to their creative spirit, instead of drawing inspiration from the typical salmon fillet, they focused on the often-overlooked shimmering skin, adding their signature twist to the design.
As you can see in the picture above, the salmon hue is present on the tachymeter scale and the 30-minute counter, but not on the main dial, emphasizing the color of the salmon's skin rather than its fillet. The dial features two layers: a metallic radial sunray base and a coarse dégradé top dial, which creates a stunning gray gradient.
The watch is powered by the Sellita SW510 M, a manual-winding cam-operated monopusher chronograph movement. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a power reserve of 63 hours. The watch comes with a black leather strap and a stainless steel pin buckle, and is priced at £1,416, which is equivalent to AED 6,900.
