Two elegant dress watches inspired by a historic 1937 variant
Founded in 1927, the German brand Stowa is best known for its robust pilot watches and Bauhaus-inspired designs. In fact, the brand was already channeling the geometric purity and utilitarian ethos of Bauhaus design as early as 1937, an era where it had strong influence on watchmaking, particularly in Germany. That legacy continues in the newly unveiled Antea Classic KS Rose Gold and Anthracite, two elegant dress watches with contemporary appeal.
Stowa keeps things refined with a 35.5mm stainless steel case that’s just 6.9mm thick, offering ideal proportions for a dress watch. The case features a polished finish and sharply angled screwed lugs, evoking the crisp, functional geometry of its Bauhaus roots. On the reverse, a screw-down exhibition caseback with sapphire crystal reveals the movement inside. The watch also offers a practical 30m water resistance, making it suitable for daily wear.

The watch comes in two variants. The rose gold dial, more accurately described as “salmon”, is a direct nod to a vintage 1937 Stowa model. It features elongated Roman numerals at the cardinal points, baton indices, and heat-blued hands, all set against a sunburst finish. Meanwhile, the anthracite version brings a more modern flair, with cool tones and high-contrast white indices. Both dials incorporate a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, slightly recessed and finished with a snailed texture.
Powering both variants is the Peseux 7001, a manual-winding movement known for its slim 2.5mm thickness. It beats at 21,600 vph (3 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of 46 hours. The movement is finished with Côtes de Genève, perlage, and blued screws, all clearly visible through the transparent caseback.

Each watch is offered on a hand-stitched black leather strap for €1,200 (approximately AED 5,050), or on a Milanese steel bracelet for €1,270 (approximately AED 5,350).
