The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing The New Squale 2001 with Three Modern Takes

An icon from the '60s returns once again to the permanent collection

Squale was founded in 1959 by Charles Von Büren and is known for producing solid, precision watches and its deep connection to historical figures like iconic French naval officer Jacques Cousteau. For this year, the brand returned to one of its most iconic models, the Squale 2001, which is becoming a permanent part of the collection after a limited edition release in 2024.

The Squale 2001 was originally introduced in the 1960s and is recognized for its barrel-shaped case with hidden lugs. This design was groundbreaking at the time and has since become a hallmark of Squale's distinctive style. The new models have received modern updates while retaining the same proportions and design features that made the original so beloved.

The case is crafted from 316L stainless steel, measuring 40mm in diameter and 13mm in thickness. It ensures 600m of water resistance, making it a true diver's watch, capable of withstanding the harshest underwater environments. The screw-down crown is positioned at 4 o'clock. The bezel is one of the standout features of the Squale 2001 and has been updated with a modern sapphire glass insert in black with luminous scale or in Super-Luminova with black printings. The bezel’s "push to release" system allows it to unlock only with perpendicular pressure, ensuring it stays securely in place while diving.

The dial comes in three variations: orange, sunray blue, and matte black. Each dial is surrounded by a white minute track for better legibility. The applied indices and oversized pencil hands are coated with SuperLumiNova for optimal visibility in low-light conditions. The dials also feature a white date window at 3 o'clock.

The watch is powered by the Sellita SW200-1, an automatic movement that runs at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers a power reserve of 38 hours. It is offered with a stainless steel ladder-style bracelet featuring open links, a design that pays tribute to the strap worn by Michel Laval during the historic 1972 Antarctic expedition. The bracelet is secured with a modern folding clasp. The 2025 edition is now part of Squale’s permanent collection.

The Squale 2001 is priced at USD 1,590, which is approximately equivalent to AED 5,900.
