Adding an elegant black dial to the indie brand's iconic collection
Founded in 1902 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Schwarz Etienne is one of the finest independent Swiss watchmakers of the modern era. Known for its in-house movements, the brand seamlessly blends tradition with contemporary craftsmanship, producing high-quality calibers and refined designs.
The Geometry collection is an exploration of structure, form, and the science of proportions in watchmaking. With its intricate dial designs and architectural aesthetic, the collection showcases Schwarz Etienne’s ability to merge technical mastery with artistic expression. We have seen several releases within this collection, including the red variant introduced last year. The latest addition, the Geometry Black, continues this tradition with a bold monochromatic execution that enhances its contemporary appeal.
Encased in polished stainless steel, the watch measures 39mm in diameter and has a thickness of 11mm. The case features a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating and a transparent caseback, offering a glimpse of the brand’s in-house movement.
The dial, crafted from 18-carat gold and entirely cloaked in black, features hand-guilloché work in four distinct patterns: fluted lines, azuré, clous de Paris, and fine sandblasted finishes. This intricate detailing, achieved in collaboration with Swiss designer Éric Giroud, creates a mesmerizing interplay of light and shadow. The lancine-style hour and minute hands are rhodium-treated, while the small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock is subtly differentiated with a sandblasted anthracite finish.
Powering the watch is the in-house ASE 200.02 automatic movement, which features a micro-rotor and is decorated with sandblasted black PVD coatings, rhodium-plated accents, and polished angles. The micro-rotor itself showcases a mix of sandblasted and satin-finished textures, with the SE logo applied in relief. It operates at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3Hz) and offers an 86-hour power reserve.

The watch is paired with an aged black leather strap with grey stitching and a black leather lining. It is secured with a stainless steel folding buckle engraved with the Schwarz Etienne logo. The watch is limited to just 100 pieces, and the price is CHF 23,800, approximately AED 99,000.
