Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
Designed in collaboration with Masayuki Hirota, the Editor-in-Chief of Chronos Japan
Raymond Weil is renowned for delivering high-quality timepieces that combine traditional Swiss craftsmanship with accessible pricing. One of its most celebrated lines is the Millésime collection, which embodies classic elegance through refined proportions and timeless detailing. It evokes the golden era of watchmaking with its sector dials, curved crystals, and vintage-inspired case designs.

In the latest addition to this collection, the brand introduces the Millésime Moon Phase Special Edition, a Japan-exclusive collaboration overseen by Masayuki Hirota, Editor-in-Chief of Chronos Japan magazine. Notably, Hirota is known for his influential role in Japan’s horological media landscape.
The watch features a stainless steel case measuring 35 mm in diameter and 9.98 mm in thickness, aligning with the contemporary revival of smaller, understated watches. The satin-finished case sides, lugs, and bezel contrast with polished edges to create a sense of depth. Its elongated, curved lugs are shaped for comfort on the wrist. A box-shaped sapphire crystal, crafted with modern precision, recalls the charm of vintage acrylic domes. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.
The two-tone silver and slate-blue sector dial perfectly captures the Millésime aesthetic, featuring distinct tracks for the hours, minutes, and seconds. The silver base is accented by slate-blue rings inspired by designs from the 1930s and 1950s. Crisp white Arabic numerals and a moon phase display at 6 o’clock, depicting the moon’s true shadows based on NASA imagery, add visual depth. The curved hand tips and slightly inclined minute track further underscore the brand’s attention to fine detail.
Powering the watch is the self-winding Calibre RW4280, an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW280-1. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and provides a power reserve of 41 hours. It is paired with a slate-blue calfskin leather strap that mirrors the tones of the dial. The strap’s tip features an embroidered W-shaped motif symbolizing Raymond Weil’s initials, secured with a traditional stainless steel pin buckle.
This watch is limited to 100 pieces, available exclusively through the brand’s Japanese retailers, ISHIDA Shinjuku, ISHIDA Omotesando, ISHIDA N43°, and the Raymond Weil Japan Official Online Store, priced at ¥462,000 (approximately AED 11,300).
