A new addition to the Cotton Candy series, with a white dial encased in bronze
In recent years, one of the most noticeable trends in modern watchmaking has been the resurgence of bronze cases. Although the material appeared between the 80s & 90s, it has gained widespread attention in contemporary horology, especially as brands have become more creative with its application. Bronze has found a particular home in the diving watch category, celebrated for its unique ability to develop a patina over time, giving each watch a distinct character.
Oris embraced this trend in 2016 with the release of the Carl Brashear Limited Edition, a bronze version of the iconic Divers Sixty-Five. This marked the beginning of the brand's continued exploration of the alloy, with numerous releases following suit. Now, Oris is launching the Divers Sixty-Five Date Cotton Candy “White Star,” a fresh addition to its vibrant Cotton Candy series, featuring a pure white dial encased in bronze.
The case of the watch is crafted from a multi-piece bronze construction, featuring a bronze unidirectional rotating bezel with a minute scale in relief. Measuring 38 mm in diameter, the watch is equipped with a domed sapphire crystal on both sides, treated with an anti-reflective coating on the inside. The stainless steel case back is screwed down and includes special engravings, while the bronze screw-in security crown, along with 100 meters of water resistance, enhances the watch's durability.
The white dial features applied indices and hands filled with bronze-colored Super-LumiNova, perfectly complementing the aesthetic of the bronze case. The dial also has a date window positioned at 6 o’clock. The watch is powered by the Oris 733 caliber, an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW200-1. It offers a power reserve of 41 hours and operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).
It comes paired with a bronze bracelet and a folding clasp, priced at CHF 2,850, which is equivalent to AED 12,300.
For more information you can visit Oris’s official website. Also, the watch is exclusively available at Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons boutiques in the UAE.
