Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch

A mother-of-pearl dial inspired by the Chinese Yangtze River
The Aquis Date stands as Oris’s most modern expression of a professional sports watch. Designed from the outset as a true dive instrument, the collection has also become the platform through which Oris channels many of its conservation partnerships. In its latest release, the brand introduces the Aquis Date Yangtze Jiangtun Limited Edition, a watch created in support of the Changjiang Conservation Foundation and its efforts to protect the endangered Yangtze River ecosystem, China’s longest river and the third longest in the world.

The case measures 43.5 mm in diameter with a thickness of 13.1 mm and is crafted from stainless steel, featuring predominantly brushed surfaces accented by restrained polishing. A unidirectional rotating bezel crowns the case and is fitted with a dark grey tungsten insert. On the reverse, the watch features a solid stainless steel screw-in caseback, engraved with a depiction of the Yangtze finless porpoise alongside the individual limited-edition number. Water resistance is rated at 300 meters.

The dial is rendered in blue-green mother-of-pearl, its surface engraved with flowing wave patterns inspired by the porpoise’s echolocation signals. The natural iridescence of the material shifts subtly with changing light, evoking the movement of water. Applied hour indices and hands are filled with Super-LumiNova, while a date window is positioned at 6 o’clock.

Powering the watch is the Oris calibre 733, an automatic movement based on the Sellita SW200-1, operating at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and delivering a power reserve of 41 hours.
The watch is fitted with a stainless steel three-row bracelet, finished in a combination of brushed and polished surfaces and secured by a folding clasp. This edition is limited to 1,249 pieces, a number that mirrors the most recent recorded population count of the Yangtze finless porpoise. The watch is priced at CHF 2,550, approximately AED 11,800.
