A Diver inspired by the fading light the sunset
Long before the modern dive watch became a lifestyle symbol, Mido was already shaping waterproof construction through proprietary sealing systems and purpose-built case architecture. That early commitment to durability eventually evolved into the Ocean Star collection, which has become the brand’s most enduring tool-watch line and the clearest expression of its maritime DNA. In its latest release, Mido welcomes the new year with the Ocean Star 200C Red Ceramic.

The watch comes in a case measuring 42.5 mm in diameter and is crafted from stainless steel with alternating brushed and polished surfaces. A unidirectional rotating bezel frames the case, fitted with a red ceramic insert in a saturated tone. Secured by a screw-down stainless steel caseback engraved with the Ocean Star starfish emblem, the watch achieves water resistance rated at 200 meters.
The dial is finished in matte black and decorated with a stamped wave-relief motif that creates a subtle three-dimensional surface across its expanse. Rose gold-coloured applied indices rise above this textured base, each filled with white Super-LumiNova to preserve clarity in low-light environments. The hands follow the same rose gold-toned treatment and are diamond-cut and faceted. A day and date display is positioned at 3 o’clock.

Powering the watch is Mido’s Caliber 80 automatic movement, operating at a frequency of 21,600 vph (3 Hz) and delivering a power reserve of 80 hours. It features a Nivachron balance spring that improves resistance to magnetism, temperature variation, and physical shocks.

The watch is paired with a brown leather strap finished with white stitching and secured by a stainless steel pin buckle engraved with the brand’s logo. This model joins the permanent collection and is priced at USD 1,250, approximately AED 4,600.
