A bold release featuring black aesthetics and sporty orange accents
Since its founding in 1918, Mido has built its identity on precision engineering and functional design, qualities that have secured its place within the Swiss watchmaking landscape. Throughout its history, the brand has often drawn inspiration from architecture and high-performance engineering, a connection most clearly expressed through the iconic Multifort collection. Introduced in the 1930s and frequently associated with sport and endurance, the collection has gradually evolved into a showcase for Mido’s technical prowess.
This year, the brand is expanding the Multifort Skeleton Chronograph collection with a striking black-and-orange Skeleton Chronograph.
The watch is housed in a 43 mm stainless-steel case coated in black PVD and finished with alternating polished and brushed surfaces to echo the contrast found in high-performance machines. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides ensures optimal visibility, while the transparent sapphire caseback provides a full view of the movement. Water resistance is rated to 100 meters.
The openworked dial is built around an X-shaped structure that exposes multiple components of the movement. A black satin base sets the stage for vivid orange accents, including the tachymeter scale, chronograph seconds hand, and the outlines of the X-structure. Inspired by dashboard gauges, the tri-compax layout ensures a precise reading of elapsed time, while the indices and skeletonised hands feature orange Super-LumiNova for legibility in low-light conditions.
Powering the watch is the Caliber 60, an automatic movement operating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) with a 60-hour power reserve. Equipped with a Nivachron balance spring, it provides enhanced resistance to magnetism, temperature fluctuations, and shocks.

The watch is paired with a textured black rubber strap secured by a black PVD-coated pin buckle engraved with the Mido logo. It joins the brand’s permanent collection and is priced at CHF 2,380, approximately AED 10,900.
