Two limited editions pay tribute to the iconic Austrian musician Johann Strauss
MeisterSinger stood apart with its unique philosophy of time since its founding, as it carved a distinctive niche with its single-hand watches, timepieces that echo the relaxed rhythm of a bygone era. This year, the brand pays tribute to one of classical music’s most enduring legends, Johann Strauss. Known as the “Waltz King,” Strauss shaped 19th-century culture and gifted the world some of the most iconic compositions in Austrian music history. In honor of his 200th birthday, MeisterSinger has released two beautifully crafted timepieces, the Pangaea and Neo Johann Strauss Editions.
The first of these is the Johann Strauss Pangaea Edition, a refined and elegantly curved watch housed in a 40 mm stainless steel case. The Johann Strauss Neo Edition, by contrast, is a smaller, more vintage-inspired model measuring 36 mm. On the reverse side, both cases are engraved with Strauss’s likeness, his signature, and the individual edition number. The watches are water-resistant to 50 meters and feature a six-screw caseback and sapphire crystal.
The dials come in either a deep midnight blue or a light blue hue, each featuring a delicate wave-like texture, a nod to the flowing waters of the Danube river in Germany. A silver portrait of Strauss is subtly integrated above the 6 o’clock position, complemented by applied silver numerals.
Inside, the watches are powered by the Sellita SW200 automatic movement, which beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and delivers a 38-hour power reserve. Each timepiece is paired with a cognac-colored leather strap with crocodile embossing. The Pangaea variant is limited to 125 pieces and priced at €2,290, approximately AED 9,700, while the Neo variant is limited to 75 pieces and priced at €1,990, approximately AED 8,500.
