Introducing The New Meistersinger Anton Bruckner Edition: A Unique Experience with a Musical Touch

Celebrating the 200th Anniversary of Austrian Composer Anton Bruckner

The German brand MeisterSinger is renowned for its distinctive watches featuring a single hour hand, a design inspired by early watchmaking traditions. The core concept behind MeisterSinger watches is to provide a unique timekeeping experience. Unlike traditional watches with multiple hands, MeisterSinger models use a single hand to indicate the time on a 12-hour dial. We have previously discussed several notable releases, including the Enamel Edition Z1 and the Pangea Day-Date 365. The latest addition to their collection is the Anton Bruckner Edition, named in honour of the Austrian composer and organist and to celebrate his birthday.

The MeisterSinger Edition Anton Bruckner watch comes in a 43mm diameter and 12.95mm thick stainless steel case with satin and polished finishes. It offers water-resistant up to 50 meters, includes a domed sapphire crystal over the dial. and an engraved image of Bruckner on the steel caseback. A prominent fluted crown, adorned with an embossed MeisterSinger logo, facilitates easy time-setting. Additionally, a functional pusher at 2 o’clock allows the wearer to toggle the Bell chiming function on or off.

The watch features a dial that evokes a design from Bruckner’s era. The single heat-blued hand, characteristic of MeisterSinger's style, glides over a white dial marked with a 12 and 24-hour scale, complemented by blue and red accents. The hour markers include numbers 1 to 12 on the outer circle and 13 to 24 on the inner circle, with the keys of Bruckner’s nine symphonies replacing some of the numbers. The dial also showcases alternating black and blue markers for precise time reading, and a red "30" denotes the half-hour. The MeisterSinger logo, adorned with a musical symbol, and Bruckner’s signature, along with the Bell Hora’s ringing bell image, further enriched the design.

The MeisterSinger Edition Anton Bruckner features the MS Bell automatic movement, based on the Swiss Sellita SW200 and incorporating a specially developed module. Introduced in 2021, this movement operates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and provides a 38-hour power reserve. It powers bell complication, delivering a delicate chime on the hour through a sound fork positioned behind the dial.

The mechanism can be disengaged for quiet hours using the pusher above the crown, which, when pulled out, shows a black mark indicating that the watch will remain silent for the next hour's chime. The watch comes with an ocean blue leather strap with a steel pin buckle and is priced at USD 5,399, equivalent to AED 19,800.
