Expanding the Turbine 41 titanium collection with a space inspired timepiece
Perrelet, a Swiss watchmaker with a heritage dating back to 1777, introduced its Turbine Collection in 2009, setting a new standard with its innovative design and historic craftsmanship. This collection features a variety of models centered around the distinctive turbine concept. During the Windup Watch Fair in San Francisco, the nation's largest open gathering for watch enthusiasts, which took place from May 3 to 5, 2024, the brand showcased its newest release: the Limited Edition "Turbine Space Conquest".
The exploration of the unknown, scientific progress, technological advancement have been key drivers for humanity. However, Space has always been a particularly fascinating topic. The motivations for space travel have been numerous and varied throughout history. Space is, and always will be, a significant area of human interest, which Perrelet has chosen to honor with the "Turbine Space Conquest," an intriguing addition to the Turbine 41 Titanium collection, featuring a dial that showcases one of humanity's most remarkable journeys.
The watch features a polished and brushed grade 2 titanium case with a diameter of 41 mm and a thickness of 13.90 mm. It includes a flat, smooth bezel, a vertically fluted case back, triple lugs, and a prominent crown adorned with the brand's logo. The case back is covered with a sapphire crystal, displaying the inscription "Limited Edition XX/50."
The watch employs Turbine Technology, featuring a 12-blade turbine in black anodized aluminum with five tungsten counterweights beneath it. The lower dial presents a realistic depiction of a lunar landscape, complete with an astronaut and the Earth. The Arabic numerals and indices are filled with white Super-LumiNova, and are embossed on a matte black ring. The central hour and minute hands are luminescent for visibility in low-light conditions, while the central seconds hand is distinguished by its bold red color.
The watch is powered by the in-house automatic caliber P-331-MH, which holds both Chronofiable and COSC certifications. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers 42 hours of power reserve. The bridges are finished with rhodium plating and circular graining, while the oscillating weight is open-worked, satin-brushed, and rhodium-plated and personalized with the Perrelet logo.
The watch comes with a polished and brushed five-row titanium integrated bracelet with a folding buckle that features Perrelet’s logo. The watch is Produced exclusively for the US market as a limited edition of 50 pieces that are individually numbered, and priced at USD 5,450 which is equivalent to AED 20,000.
