Introducing Albishorn Unveils the Type 10 Officer
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
A robust watch built to meet the standards of the toughest conditions
Laco was founded in Pforzheim, Germany, in 1925 and is one of the historic makers of the original pilot’s watches, supplied to the German Luftwaffe during World War II. The brand has maintained a strong connection to military and field-ready timepieces while expanding into modern, versatile tool watches suited for our modern day. The Atacama series embodies this spirit, designed for extreme durability and practicality in demanding environments.
This year, the brand introduces the Atacama 3, featuring a stainless steel case with a black DLC coating for enhanced durability and scratch resistance. Measuring 46 mm in diameter and 12 mm in thickness, the case tapers toward the back for a more ergonomic fit. The turnable countdown bezel, marked with an orange triangle at zero, is easy to operate and offers a reverse timing function. The protected screw-down crown sits in an uncommon 12 o’clock position, helping to prevent accidental knocks during active use.
A sapphire crystal caseback provides a clear view of the movement, while the watch’s robust build ensures water resistance up to 500 meters, making it suitable for professional diving and other high-pressure environments.
The matte black dial is framed by a white minute track and displays Arabic numerals and indices coated with Super-LumiNova C3 for outstanding legibility in low light. The hour hand also carries C3 lume, the minute hand stands out in bright orange Super-LumiNova for quick recognition, and the white seconds hand is C3 lumed. A date window sits neatly at 6 o’clock.

Powering the watch is the Laco 200 automatic movement, based on the Swiss Sellita SW200-1. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of approximately 38 to 41 hours.
The Laco Atacama 3 is offered with a black rubber strap at a price of €1,130 (approx. AED 4,900) or with a DLC-coated stainless steel bracelet at €1,230 (approx. AED 5,300). The bracelet is fitted with a folding clasp, safety catch, and quick-release spring bars for easy changes.
