First Look The New Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Geographic

The first Reverso Tribute to incorporate the Worldtimer complication

Few watches have a backstory as rich as the Reverso. Originally designed in 1931 to survive the rough-and-tumble of polo matches, it has since evolved into one of the most recognizable and revered timepieces in watchmaking. More than just a watch, the Reverso is an icon, loved by collectors and enthusiasts for the way it effortlessly bridges past and present.

Its signature Art Deco lines and mechanical brilliance give it a bold presence on the wrist, while the ingenious swiveling case remains one of the most creative solutions ever devised in horology. And now, Jaeger-LeCoultre takes things up a notch with the Reverso Tribute Geographic. For the first time in the Tribute collection, a world-time complication makes its debut, making this latest edition the ultimate travel companion, perfect for those who move through time zones as effortlessly as they move through the streets.

At first glance, the polished steel or 18k pink gold case carries all the hallmarks of the Reverso’s storied design, perfect proportions, sharp finishing, and that signature balance between tradition and innovation. It measures 49.4 x 29.9 mm with a sleek 11.14 mm thickness, giving it presence without overstatement. But, as always with the Reverso, the real magic happens when you flip the case over.

The front dial leans into pure elegance. It features a sunray finish, deep blue for the steel model and a rich chocolate brown for the pink gold version. The layout is crisp: a Grande Date at 12 o’clock, central hour and minute hands, and a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. Back in 2021, a clever date disc system was patented to fit neatly inside the tight dimensions of the rectangular Reverso case. Instead of the usual stacked setup, it uses two side-by-side discs, one for the units (1–9) and another for the tens (10, 20, 30). When the date hits double digits, a tiny hook on the unit disc grabs the tens disc, moving it forward to display the next number. So? Both digits stay perfectly aligned on the same plane, making for a cleaner, more balanced look.

Flip the case, and Jaeger-LeCoultre delivers something truly special. The reverse side transforms into a world-time display, coated in lacquer and detailed with laser engraving. A rotating 24-hour ring circles a beautifully rendered world map, allowing you to track time across multiple cities. Unlike most world-time watches, where the city disc moves while the 24-hour ring stays fixed, Jaeger-LeCoultre flips the script, the city display remains stationary, while the 24-hour ring rotates. Setting it is seamless in one-hour increments, thanks to a hidden pusher discreetly tucked between the lugs.

Inside beats the Calibre 834, a new manually wound movement designed and built in-house. It offers a 42-hour power reserve when fully wound. No luxury watch is complete without a killer strap, and Jaeger-LeCoultre has partnered with legendary polo bootmaker Casa Fagliano to craft interchangeable leather straps. The steel version comes with two options: canvas and calf leather or full calf leather. The pink gold model gets a golden-tan calfskin strap and a black alligator leather option.

The pink gold edition is limited to just 150 pieces and is priced at EUR 31,500, equivalent to AED 45,578, while the steel variant joins Jaeger-LeCoultre’s permanent collection with a price of EUR 19,000, equivalent to AED 27,382.
