Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
A stunning dial that evokes the waters and skies of the Mediterranean Sea
Herbelin was founded in 1947 in Charquemont, France, and has long served as a bridge between traditional fine watchmaking and modern functionality. One of the brand’s most iconic lines is the Newport collection, inspired by the maritime world, particularly the portholes of sailboats. Since its debut in 1988, the Newport has become a flagship series for the French watchmaker.
The brand revived the line in 2020 with the Newport Héritage, and this year, it expands it with the Newport Héritage Diver Blue Highlight. Housed in a 42mm cushion-shaped case made from 316L stainless steel, the watch measures 13.95mm thick. The brushed sides contrast elegantly with a polished black ceramic unidirectional bezel, while a domed sapphire crystal sits atop the case. A screw-down crown and transparent caseback complete the design, ensuring a robust water resistance of 300 meters.
The matte black, grain-textured dial evokes the look of the Mediterranean waters. It’s framed by a sky-blue flange that symbolizes open skies and enhances legibility. Oversized luminescent indices and faceted steel hands ensure excellent visibility even in low-light conditions. A practical day-date window is positioned at 3 o’clock.
The watch is powered by the Sellita SW220-1, a Swiss-made automatic movement operating at 28,800 vph (4 Hz). It offers a 41-hour power reserve and has been individually regulated by Herbelin to perform within -0/+15 seconds per day. Each movement is assembled and adjusted in the brand’s workshop in France’s Jura region.
The watch is paired with a technical textile strap that’s both rot-proof and water-resistant, secured by a folding deployment clasp. The Newport Héritage Diver Blue Highlight joins Herbelin’s permanent diving collection, priced at €1,250, approximately AED 5,300.
