A new addition to the sports collection with a dual-time complication
Grand Seiko is a prestigious Japanese watch brand renowned for its precision, craftsmanship, and elegant design. Since its inception, Grand Seiko has used the lion, as a powerful symbol and a source of inspiration.
In 2017, Grand Seiko became an independent brand and left the Seiko group, further establishing its unique identity and heritage. Two years later, the brand launched its Sport collection "Tokyo Lion" series, and this year, Grand Seiko expanded this collection with the introduction of the Sport Spring Drive GMT SBGE307 "Tokyo Lion", featuring a titanium case inspired by a lion’s paw and a GMT complication.
The titanium case of the Sport Spring Drive GMT SBGE307 measures 44.5mm in diameter and 14.3mm in thickness. The fixed 24-hour scale on the bezel includes numerals with Lumibrite, a new luminous material that is brighter and longer-lasting than conventional luminous paints, and a sapphire crystal insert. The claw-inspired lugs feature a beautiful Zaratsu polishing. The dial is protected by a dual-curved sapphire crystal, and the see-through caseback allows a view of the intricate movement. Additionally, the watch has a screw-down crown and is water-resistant to 200 meters.
The ivory dial features a beautiful texture that artfully mimics a lion’s mane and extends to the minutes flange. The dial also includes applied hour indices, hands and a red GMT hand with Lumibrite coating, a date window at 6 o’clock, and a power reserve indicator at 7:30.
The watch is powered by the Spring Drive caliber 9R66 GMT, which is automatic, offers a 72-hour power reserve, and has an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month. It comes with a titanium bracelet featuring a triple-folding clasp and is priced at USD 10,700, equivalent to AED 40,000.
