Introducing The New Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
The smallest case of the 44GS collection, in blue and white
In 1967, Grand Seiko introduced the 44GS, a watch that established the Grand Seiko Style. This classic is now reinterpreted for a new era. It maintains its clean edges, curved sides, flat surfaces, and minimalist dial design, all while retaining its signature slim profile.
Recently, the Japanese watchmaker started introducing models with the smallest case diameter in the collection, measuring 36.5 mm, which is also used for the two latest additions to the Heritage 44GS Collection.
The watch comes in a stainless steel case, measuring 11.6 mm in thickness and lug to lug distance of 42.7 mm, this timepiece is polished using Grand Seiko’s signature Zaratsu method, with a slim polished bezel. These proportions closely resemble the original 44GS, despite being slightly thicker. The dial is protected by a box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface.

The new models draw their inspiration from kamisen, which are Japanese folding fans often made of paper. As we can see, both dials, white and dark blue feature a sunray pattern that creates an appealing interplay of light and shadows. The hands and multi-faceted indexes have been redesigned to fit the scaled-down dimensions. An applied "GS" logo graces the 12 o'clock position, while the blue variant utilizes steel hands, the white variant adds a unique touch with a contrasting blued steel seconds hand.
Behind the stainless steel case back, the hand-wounded Caliber 9S64 operates at 28,800 VPH (4 Hz), and offers 72 hours of power reserve, with a mean daily rate of -3 to +5 seconds in static conditions.
Both watches are paired with a 3-link steel bracelet featuring a triple folding clasp with a push-button release. The New Grand Seiko Heritage 44GS will be released in November, at a price of EUR 5,700 which is equivalent to AED 22,000.
