Two limited editions with beautiful summer inspired dials
Glashütte Original is a prestigious German watch brand renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and precision engineering. With a rich heritage dating back to 1845, the brand is a paragon of Saxon watchmaking, embodying both technical excellence and classic elegance. Glashütte Original watches are known for their meticulous attention to detail, innovative in-house movements, and refined aesthetics, seamlessly blending tradition with modernity.
One of its icons is the Seventies collection, where the brand masterfully fuses classic design with contemporary appeal. Now, the brand is releasing two limited editions, the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date Watermelon and Swimming Pool, which bring a refreshing summer-inspired dials to the lineup.
Like its predecessors, the watch features a square-shaped stainless steel case with a 40 x 40mm diameter and a thickness of 14.1mm. The case showcases a refined combination of brushed and polished finishes, and it is equipped with sapphire crystal on both the dial side and the caseback. Additionally, the watch maintains a water resistance of 100 meters.
The highlight of these new releases is the stunning lacquered dials, with one watch featuring a vibrant red hue (Watermelon) and the other a striking turquoise (Swimming Pool). Beyond the fresh color options, the dial retains the collection’s iconic chronograph display, including a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, and a small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock which also has a power reserve indicator. Additionally, the dial is equipped with a 12-hour counter above the center and the signature Panorama Date at 6 o’clock.
The watch is powered by the Calibre 37-02, an in-house automatic movement featuring an integrated flyback chronograph with a column wheel. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and provides a power reserve of 70 hours. Both watches are limited to 100 pieces and are available with either a black rubber strap featuring a butterfly folding clasp, priced at EUR 15,900, equivalent to AED 64,500, or a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp, priced at EUR 17,100, equivalent to AED 69,500.
