The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing The New Gérald Genta Gentissima Oursin Collection

Reviving the brand entered a new chapter by reintroducing a design crafted by Genta in the 90s

Louis Vuitton had begun a new strategy to expand its presence in the world of haute horlogerie, initially acquiring two famous names, Gérald Genta and Daniel Roth. This move is a milestone in the brand's evolution. The results began to appear strongly, as the Daniel Roth watch stole the spotlight at this year's LVMH Watch Week in the United States of America, where the French group displayed its craftsmanship. It is currently the turn of the Gérald Genta brand, which was revived last year by presenting a unique piece to the Only Watch auction, and is unveiling its second release since its acquisition by the French group, the Gentissima Orsan collection.

Gérald Genta first conceived the Oursin, French for sea urchin. The watch's distinctive design, inspired by the spiny, globular sea urchin, was translated into a timepiece in 1994, featuring a circular case with convex sides adorned with beads.

The new Gentissima Oursin comes in three stunning variations. Each convex titanium case is meticulously studded with 223 beads, arranged in a radially expanding pattern of circles. These decorative beads, individually threaded and screwed down, are made from contrasting materials, including white gold, rose gold with diamonds, and yellow gold, enhancing the underlying titanium with their unique charm.

This 36.5 mm diameter case has a thickness of 9.6 mm. The design extends to the crown, where the nubbins are pointed. The case is topped with a faceted sapphire crystal featuring eight planes that form an octagon in the center.

The matte titanium base is decorated with polished white gold beads and paired with a dark grey dial featuring an eight-sided guilloché pattern and silver-toned hands. The second model showcases rose gold beads and diamonds on the case, complemented by a pink mother-of-pearl guilloché dial. Lastly, the third model features spike-shaped beads in yellow gold on a black DLC-coated titanium base, with a sleek flat dial and yellow gold spike hour indices.

The new Gentissima Oursin pieces are powered by a Zenith Elite-based movement, modified to match their aesthetic. Gérald Genta incorporates an octagonal rotor adorned with a beaded motif around its periphery. This movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and offers a 50-hour power reserve.

Prices range from CHF 19,000 equivalent to AED 77,900 for the anthracite model, and CHF 22,000 equivalent to AED 90,200 for the black and yellow gold model, and CHF 29,000 equivalent to AED 118,900 for the pink and diamonds model.
