The New Patek Philippe Twenty~4 7340/1R Perpetual Calendar

Introduced in 1999, the Twenty~4 collection was Patek Philippe’s first dedicated line of feminine timepieces. The original model featured an Art Deco-inspired manchette (cuff) design, but in 2018, the brand unveiled the Twenty~4 Automatic, which is a round-cased iteration powered by an automatic movement. This year, Patek Philippe elevates the collection further by introducing a perpetual calendar complication, marking the collection's debut in the realm of Grand Complications.
Crafted entirely in 18K rose gold, the watch features a 36mm case with a slender profile of just 9.95mm, making it sit gracefully on the wrist. The case is meticulously finished with a combination of polished and brushed surfaces, enhancing its refined aesthetic. Two dial options are available. The Ref. 7340/1R-001 features a silvery opaline dial with a vertical satin finish, evoking the texture of shantung silk that feature irregular texture, while the Ref. 7340/1R-010 presents an olive green sunburst dial for a more contemporary appeal.

Introducing The New Generation of The Seiko Prospex 1965 Heritage Divers

Three new references with smaller cases, enhanced water resistance, and new movements

In 1965, Seiko introduced its inaugural diver’s watch the 65MAS, marking the beginning of a journey where the brand has consistently pioneered new technologies and designs that have earned the admiration of divers. Over more than fifty years of innovation, the company has consistently expanded the horizons of its sports and diver’s timepieces.

The 65MAS from 1924

Few years ago, Seiko reintroduced the iconic 65MAS design to its dive watches collection. This year, the brand is unveiling the new generation of Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver’s watches, a trio of timepieces inspired by the 65MAS, yet smaller in size and equipped with a new movement the SPB451, SPB453, & SPB455. The reintroduction of the 62MAS occurred in 2017, marking the beginning of various subsequent editions that followed. These iterations encompassed variations in case sizes, introductions of new colors, and new movements. Despite enhancements and modernizations, the overall aesthetic retains a distinct retro charm of the iconic watch.

Seiko slightly reduces the diameter, and height, although the changes are minimal. The diameter now measures 40mm instead of 40.5mm, with the height decreasing from 13.2mm to 13mm. All three watches come in a stainless steel case, featuring a combination of brushed and polished finishes with a super-hard coating. They are equipped with a unidirectional rotating diving bezel and an aluminum insert, and curved sapphire crystal that include anti-reflective coating on the inner surface for enhanced clarity. The cases are secured with screwed casebacks and screw-down crowns. Notably, Seiko has upgraded the water resistance of the stainless steel case from 200m to 300m.

Choose from blue, black, or charcoal hues for your preferred dial color. Depending on your choice, the raised indices and hands are available in white, silver, or gold tones. To enhance legibility in low-light conditions, LumiBrite inserts are applied throughout (Seiko’s luminous material which is brighter and longer-lasting than conventional luminous paints). Additionally, the date window has been relocated to 04:30 and now features a circular design to display horizontally aligned digits. The dial features white accents on the blue or black dials, while the special edition charcoal model commemorating Seiko’s 100th anniversary features gold-colored accents.

Seiko enhances the mechanical aspect of the Prospex 1965 series by introducing a new movement, the Calibre 6R55. These three new references offer the same 21,600 vph (3Hz), but boast an extended power reserve of 72 hours, surpassing the 70-hour capacity of the 6R35 calibre featured in other Prospex 1965 models. This marks the debut of this caliber within the Prospex collection.

The trio features a redesigned three-link stainless steel bracelet, characterized by shorter links and a more compact clasp. These timepieces will be released for purchase in June 2024, priced at EUR 1,400, which is equivalent to AED 5,600 for the blue and black variations, and EUR 1,600, equivalent to AED 6,400 for the charcoal and gold-colored special edition. Furthermore, you will receive a braided NATO-style textile strap crafted entirely from recycled plastic bottles as an additional accessory.
