Celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Tokyo boutique, and the final release in the limited edition series
F.P. Journe is an independent Swiss watch brand founded by François-Paul Journe in 1999. The brand is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and is known for its craftsmanship, innovative designs, and exclusive timepieces. In September 2003, the Boutique F.P.Journe Tokyo opened its doors. This boutique represented a pivotal moment in the brand's history and was the catalyst for its global expansion.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of its Tokyo boutique, F.P. Journe has unveiled the sixth watch in its Boutique Anniversaire Series, the Chronograph FB. An entirely new model that marks the final release in the limited edition series. The new Chronograph FB is part of a collection initially introduced in 2005 at the Japan-based boutique. Called the Tokyo Boutique Anniversaire Series, each watch is individually numbered and distinguished by its polished titanium case, gold crown and pushers, ruthenium-toned dial, and burgundy strap.
Like its predecessors, the Chronograph FB features a polished grade 5 titanium case with a 40mm diameter and a slim 10.40mm thickness. The dial is protected by sapphire crystal, and the exquisite movement is visible through the sapphire case back. Both the crown and pushers are crafted from 18k 6N gold.
The guilloché silver dial, coated with ruthenium, showcases striking Arabic numerals in orange. The dial is encircled by a white chapter ring adorned with a tachymeter scale that indicates the speed over a distance of 1,000 meters using the chronograph seconds hand, completing one full rotation in 2 minutes. The dial is further embellished with steel frames, partially revealing sub-dials for the small seconds at 9 o'clock and a 60-minute chronograph at 3 o’clock, along with a large date window positioned at 6 o'clock.
The watch is powered by the Caliber 1518.2, an in-house hand-wound flyback chronograph with a column wheel, which is a simplified version of the cal. 1518. Operating at 21,600 vph (3Hz), it provides an impressive 80 hours of power reserve. The plates and bridges are crafted from 18k rose gold, adding to the timepiece's luxurious appeal.
The watch comes with a burgundy alligator leather strap with an 18K gold folding clasp and is limited to 200 pieces. It is priced at CHF 90,000, equivalent to AED 361,500.
