Introducing Breguet Refreshes the Tradition Collection with a Modern Touch
Welcome to the hub of the horoloy
A bold revival of an icon from the independent British brand
Christopher Ward has become a defining name in modern British watchmaking since its founding in 2004. The brand disrupted the market by pioneering a direct-to-consumer model that offered Swiss-made craftsmanship at accessible prices. Operating from Maidenhead, England, with its technical and manufacturing base in Biel, Switzerland, the brand’s Anglo-Swiss identity remains central to its philosophy.
The new C1 Jump Hour Mk V marks the return of one of the brand’s most beloved complications. First introduced in 2011 with the C9 Harrison, this fifth-generation model brings back the jump hour display in a completely reimagined design. It belongs to the Atelier collection, a space dedicated to Christopher Ward’s most creative and technically advanced pieces, alongside models such as the C1 Moonphase and The Twelve X.

The watch is housed in a 316L stainless steel case measuring 39 mm in diameter and 14 mm in thickness. It features brushed flanks, polished facets, and a box-domed sapphire crystal. The push-down crown bears the brand’s twin-flag emblem, while the solid, deep-stamped caseback displays an intricate pattern inspired by the jump hour mechanism. Water resistance is rated at 30 meters.

The dial is available in Noon Blue or Dusk Gold and features a multi-layered construction with a central stamped disc framed by a circular-brushed ring. Floating above the surface is a translucent sapphire minute track, secured by four domed pins with printed numerals and black minute markers. Beneath it lies an innovative luminous system: the underside of the sapphire ring is coated with Super-LumiNova C1 X1 BL, illuminating both the track and the hidden hour disc below.
At 12 o’clock, the jump hour aperture showcases bold Art Deco–inspired numerals filled with Globolight blocks of Super-LumiNova for optimal visibility. The minute hand is also crafted from sapphire, gently arched to clear the raised track, and treated with the same luminous compound.
Powering the watch is the Calibre JJ01, a proprietary module designed by Johannes Jahnke and built upon the reliable Sellita SW200-1 base. This automatic movement operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
The C1 Jump Hour Mk V can be paired with a fine Italian leather strap in colors that complement the dial tones, or with the brand’s five-link Consort bracelet.
This model joins the permanent collection, with prices starting at £2,150 (approximately AED 10,400) on a leather strap, and £2,285 (approximately AED 11,100) on the stainless steel bracelet.
